Baal, the heart fairy, also known as the addiction artist. He`s meant to the usual temptation/seduction archetype and he likes to make people indulge in vices and self-gratification. Amongst fairies, he is considered the most attractive and romantic, but also the most petty and toxic. All fairies dated him at least once and can confirm that it was both the best and worst relationship of their lives. Dont think you`re safe from his charms a-spec people, he also bakes delicious pastries. By the way, irredeamable is free this weekend, so why don`t you go try it?
Hello everyone, this is your weekly engagement farm. Post a comment or a reblog with your favorite thing in irredeamable. May it be an area, boss, character, or even a tiny detail.
I got a lot of details im fond of, but this animation in particular always make me smile. Got that bad bitch energy.

I' ve been working on an update for Irredeamable that will add some requested features and fixes, as well as a couple personal additions.
One of these is finally adding Loki' s pride flag which i kept forgetting to implement during development.
Other additions include:
-Left click can be used to progress dialogue -A secret npc was added to the postgame area if its visited early -reduced risk of respawning above a pit after falling -the game will display how much exp you are gaining in combat
This update should coincide with the release of" "Irredeamable, Give Me Money edition", which will replace all copyrighted songs with public domain and creative common stuff so i can post it on itch, steam, and offer the game under a "pay what you want" system. I just need to finish finding the songs first.
I dont have much left to say about irredeamable (at least nothing im comfortable with spoiling for those who have yet to play the game) So i guess this is about the time where i should start talking about my current project.
Here above is a recreation of the design process for the main character. I had to get it all done pretty early since once i start working on the sprites and animations, i cant alter the design without redoing all of them. Aniway, i wouldnt really know where to begin talking about her, at least not today. So ill leave you all to comment and speculate for now. I`ll provide more hindsight on her character in the future once i figure out an angle.
Jupe is part of a group of demi-gods called the Flamebearers. Each of them was born with the ability to channel heat into their body and release it into devastating attacks. Their bodies get increasingly resistant to heat and physical damage as it is tempered from repeated exposure to flames. Flamebearers do not wear any clothing or armor as they do not benefit from them. This also allows them to proudly display all of the burns and scars they have gathered from battles and training.
An experienced flamebearer will eventually learn to master a specialized skill from their training, such as Jupe being able to focus her fire into deadly lightning bolts.

This post introduces the flamebearers' main family. They are the main npc Jupe interacts with through the game and occasionally are fought as bosses. Thundercaller Jupe : The youngest of her siblings, she acts as the current matriarch of the family and is the strongest flamebearer alive. Tidebreaker Neptu: Second oldest member of the family. Neptu lives at the far coast with his husband and son, endlessly training amongst the boiling tides to regain his title as the strongest member of his siblings. Winddancer Ouran: Eldest sibling of the family. She lives in a village far above the highlands with her extensive family. She has been drifting away from the flamebearers current lifestyle in favor of caring for her village nad family, but still regularly trains to keep up her skills. Satur: The old patriarch of the family, Satur has since been banished to the forbidden lands for opposing Jupe's current rules. He is a survivor and a traditionalist, looking down on the flamebearers' current practices. Pluron:.... Venu: Elest child of Jupe. Venu has gathered a reputation has the fierce but kindly caretaker of the flamebearer home. Eri: Youngest of Jupe children. Eri is a frail and confused flamebearer, unsure of their place in the world and the power they hold. Jupe is still in the process of training them. Mar: Twin sibling of Mercy, Mar is a thrill seeker, always tracking the next big game hunt. They are responsible for providing food for the family and their servants. Mercu: Twin brother of Mar. Mercy is a frail but agile flamebearer, capable of achieving great speed and distances. His current role is to serve as a messenger, communicating information between the distant members of the family. Most of their designs are currently only at the silhouette level but progress is slowly being made as their role and concept is being solidified.
One of the biggest obstacles in writing irredeamable was how large and spread the cast of characters had been. Most of the game was composed of disparate storylines whose characters rarely would intersect. One of the objectives of this game is to work with a much smaller and tighter cast of characters, hense the focus on a single extended family. It also brings the benefit that everyone has pre-defined relationships with each other.

Korugues are the main enemy types encountered during the game. They are an assortment of races and cultures from all over the flamebearer empire, united by a common hatred of their oppressors.
From left to right: Hills, river, forest, sea, plains, frost One aspect of the story that I`m pretty invested in is the contrast between how kind and motherly Jupe behaves toward her family, especially her children, and how little she respects and values anyone else. I expect that this will make her a lot more unlikeable than the usual protagonist, but i think that creates a lot of interesting opportunities for the story.
So, didnt have a lot of progress to talk about on my new game since i had taken about 2-3 weeks to work on other things, but heres some of the work i`ve been putting into the world map and struckture.
So here we have what i call "zone maps" which consist of rough drawings of what areas are planned and how they are placed and connected. Since the game is themed around fire and wilderness, most areas are fiery twists on common fantasy environments and explore the many forms that heat and fire can take.
Some notable areas are:
Great caldera/Caldera outskirts: (dark red) Since flamebearers are highly resistant to heat and fire, it was an interesting subversion for the first area of the game to be a volcano. Boiling ridge/Boiling caverns: (cyan) The water area of the game, featuring harsh cliffside battered by a raging sea and plenty of geysers and thermal vents.
Pyrewoods: (bright red) A perpetually burning forest. The trees have adapted a thick insulating bark to protect themselves from the flame. Ashen highlands: (pale grey) An expansive plateau, located above the smoke of the forest. Deposits of ashes from the forest and caldera, fertilize the ground, making it a suitable place to build fields and villages. Sundered plains: (bright orange) A deadly desert, with plenty of glass structures formed from the scorching heat battering the sand.
City of cynders/Charred city (brown) The capital of an ancient civilization, burnt to the ground in times long past. Now only rubbles of sandstone and glass remains, and many myths of how exactly this city may have fell...
Frostburn pass: A gnarly canyon where frost and flame meet. Located between the great caldera and the ashen highlands. Brimstone bogs (dark green) ADark, smouldering swamps, where monstrous creatures lurk. A place long abandoned by the flamebearers and left to rot. Fuming crags (purple) Toxic fumes emanate from ancient fissures in the ground, rendering this region extremely dangerous to korugues and flamebearers alike. In the distance, an old castle lurk, long abandoned by those who used to call it home.
The melting pot: A loathsome pit of molten sludge, the heart of a twisted curse that cannot be destroyed or contained...
- Since were giving some building here, lets also describes some faraway lands that exist i nthe lore, but wont be seen in the game. South west: Nameless islands The great sea house many archipelago, conquered by the descendent of the flamebearer of the sea. South east: The frozen continent A distant landmass, overtaken by the ruthless cold. Ruled by the descendent of the frostbearer who could channel its power into cold instead of flames. North west: The endless peaks Towering mountains, reaching higher than the eye can see. Conquered long ago by the flamebearer of the sky and her children. North: Desolated expanse The sundered plains make way for a great wasteland. Long ago, the flamebearer of earth crossed through the desert and was rumored to have found habitable land on the other side, but very few dared cross the waste to verify those claims. East: The dark lands Lush forests cover the landscape, but those lands have long been forbidden. It is said that none of those who ventured to the east, not even the eldest and strongest son of the original flamebearer, was ever heard from again. My goal with these was that i wanted to imply a much bigger world beyond what is seen in the game (compared to irredeamable, almost claustrophobic worldbuilding) This next game will have plenty of distant lands and families to speculate on. I probably just wont do much with them myself. Anyway, all that stuff is subject to change as i work on it. The maps i provided are already pretty inaccurate, but that just means there will be much to discover when the actual game comes out.
