We are Water Protectors picture book
Review
I stumbled upon this book in the best way possible. I was strolling through the park basking in the nature when I saw that my library was doing a story walk. It was my first exposure to a story walk and its such a brilliant idea. Each page of this book was displayed around the park walking trail.
This picture book is less of a story and more of a call to action. It informs readers we are all born from water and we must protect it from the black snake known as oil. It's important to note that this was written in response to the Dakoto access pipeline protests. The native American population of Dakoto rebelled against the construction of this pipeline due to the damage it would cause to the water supply and cultural sites.
Author Carole Lindstrom urges readers to cherish water while educating us on its cultural significance to the Ojibwe people. Water is characterized as a nurturing force that gives us all life. It is our duty to keep water safe and protect the defenseless inhabitants of this world. Michaela Goade does a phenomenal job captivating the eyes with her breathtaking drawings.
This is an important lesson for everyone to learn because environmentalism isn't taken seriously enough. There's so much harm being done to the planet every day and we need to take a stand. We are water protectors feels like a folktale that should be passed down for generations upon generations. Do your part and save this planet.

Our World
I really want to say this because I thought this was important for everyone to know. We are all trapped in a fantasy. Where it’s great and we don’t worry about anything when we should be living in reality! Because of our decisions, we don’t have peace with some countries! Some of us have more than what others have and those people still stay positive. They hope that they’ll have what we have someday. Lately, I’ve opened my eyes to see what this world has become. And it’s not great. Nowadays people are being racist, polluting this planet, some only care for themselves and not the world. We all rely on ourselves and have lost trust with people because of bullying and others lying. Refugees from around the world hide from us because they’re scared we’ll do something bad to them. They just want to live normal lives like us but for some reason, we won’t let them. We all think that this world is great. That it’s developing more and more by the day, but it's not. It’s getting worse. People get bullied more often and commit suicide because of it. We pollute this planet every day by filling the air with toxins. We don’t do much to help our world. The earth. Us. We all need to start living in this reality and dealing with it. Helping it. Because this is our world now. And we have to fix it.

I’ve belonged to the Sierra Club & other environmental organizations for 40+ years & led more than 70 week-long service projects & backpacking trips in national parks. You might say I’m a tree hugger! Or maybe a yucca & creosote hugger since most of my activities have been in the Texas Trans-Pecos 😀
This post never fails to break my heart. I pick up trash when I go to the beach, I intend to start going every day after work in the summer to continue. The ocean and the animals surround it, inside it, are important to our ecosystems. They deserve life, not death.
Short comic, while I work on something bigger on the side. It is nevertheless a very important topic. A lot of seabirds die because they eat plastic. They feed their chicks with the waste. It’s really tragic.
alright trans ppl we're returning to the fucking sea until shit gets better lets go everyone
this generation just doesn’t go outside anymore. they don’t appreciate the subtle sound of machinery and the faint electric humming of nature, the calming scent from the sewage river, the lively 600° summer days, or the smog clouds that decorate the beautiful bleak sky. they just sit all day on their little screens ignoring the world around them. why do they choose to live like this?

Bro, it's like 4PM in São Paulo right now and all the smoke made it look like it's already night...city of ashes indeed.
hear me out what if we really tried to sell clean energy to these big companies yk. Make them capitalize THAT. It’s not a perfect solution but maybe we can turn around capitalism in that way. Or idk. But I’m thinking if somehow we convince companies that the money is in clean energy, we MIGHT be able to fix things
