The eldest daughter who wasn't wanted
Sully family x oldest daughter reader
(I am rewriting this story)
y/n sully is the oldest daughter of the Sully's twin sister of Neteyam. Even though y/n was a na'vi she came out smaller than a normal Navi baby and her skin was a sky demon tan color. She was given away a week after birth. After 16 years the Sully's reunited with y/n but y/n has a new family and doesn't consider the Sully's her family besides Mo'at.
(art isn't mine unless I say it is. The names I picked out.
I've been wanting to do this story for a while and I finally got the push I needed for it, this is just one of my avatar stories)

(The clan and characters are my ocs but the name of the clan is from a Skyrim its a orc strong hold)
~prologue 16 years ago~
The battle had ended with hells gates a few months ago when neytiri had went into labor. After many hours of pain Neytiri had given birth to her children, a little girl and a little boy named y/n and Neteyam, but y/n came out wrong, y/n was much smaller than a normal na'vi newborn she was human newborn size, her skin was a tannish color with light blue strips and she had five fingers, she did have na'vi ears, nose, kuru, and tail. Neytiri held the small new born looking up at Jake "Ma Jake.." she started Jake shock his head "don't worry my love" he replied at first they were happy to have both of the twins but soon some of the clan started talking "that baby is a demon!" "You need to get rid of it!" "Demon blood!" Neytiri and Jack did their best to ignore them.
~ a week later~
"My daughter don't do this! Please let her hear the great mother!" Mo'at begged as her daughter and son-in-law were about to give their daughter away.
"No mother. I am her mother I know what's best for her. We need to protect our family and clan" neytiri said as she gave her week old daughter to norm, while Neteyam cried from the wrapping of his mother's chest, Jake held kiri as he talked to Norm.
"She is family!" Mo'at hissed
Jack stepped between his mate and her mother
"Enough we made our choice" Jake hissed
Mo'at hissed back before grabbing the week old baby girl from norm "Fine I will take her somewhere where she can grow up in peace" Mo'at growled holding the baby closer to her chest
"Mother-" neytiri started but was cut off
"Enough! I am your mother and one of the elders! My choice over rules yours!" Mo'at hissed neytiri and Jack stepped back.
"I am her father give me my daughter" Jake said trying to grab y/n
Mo'at hissed again "No! I have spoken Jack Sully, the other elders agree with me, she deserves to live in peace"
"Mother where are you taking her? Let us come with you, I want to know that my daughter is safe" neytiri offers
Mo'at shock her head "No! Stay here, I will make sure she is safe" Mo'at said walking away with the baby.
~sometime later ~
Mo'at had sat in the hut with another larger elder sitting in front of her
"Mo'at my old friend, it's nice to see you but what's brought you to our home?" The elder in front Mo'at asked
"Leyra my old friend, as you know my daughter had her child a week ago. But my daughter has given up her daughter because she looks different." Mo'at said as she opened the baby carrier on her chest.
The elder na'vi gasped "These young ones always think they know what's best. Did you talk to her about her fate if she does this?" Leyra said as she looked at the small tan na'vi child staring back at her with an incorrect toothless smile.
Mo'at nodded as she looked down at the week old "yes but my daughter and her husband didn't listen.. they said they know what's best for their family."
Leyra and Mo'at turned when they heard the beads at the opening move to see another large female na'vi holding a small toddler
"My apologies mother and Mo'at" the female na'vi spoke with a bow Mo'at and Leyra smiled
"Zo'ile it has been to long, I see you have a small one" Mo'at said with a smile as the young na'vi walked over to her mother's friend.
Leyra smiled as her daughter sat beside her "Zo'ile I was about to call for you" Leyra said smiling at her daughter "Mo'at has brought her granddaughter to us, to be raised and cared for"
Zo'ile froze when her mother said those words before looking at Mo'at who held the small tan na'vi and her son At'ok standing by Mo'at smiling at the baby. Zo'ile reached out and Mo'at smiled before handing her the small baby.
"Her name is y/n" Mo'at said as she handed zo'ile the baby
Zo'ile smiled her heart had acked for the baby her son At'ok got into his mother's arms and stared at the baby as well "Tsmuke (sister)" At'ok said smiling zo'ile smiled before looking back at her mother and Mo'at "mother can she stay here I can raise her as my own, of course she'll know Mo'at as her grandmother as well. Please" zo'ile begged slightly.
Leyra and Mo'at smiled, Mo'at knew from then on her granddaughter would be loved and cared for from someone other than her. Leyra looked at her old friend
"Mo'at" she asked Mo'at smiled
"As long as you're ok with it my old friend" Mo'at replied
Leyra smiled "she'll be loved, cared for and excepted" Leyra said as they watched At'ok and y/n fell asleep in Zo'iles arms against her chest making her smile
(Something like this)
(Go look up artsofmetamoor! Love their avatar au)
Mo'at smiled sadly she didn't want to leave her first grandchild but her people really needed her and she knew y/n would have a better life here. "goodbye ma granddaughter I will come visit when I can, and thank you again leyra, zo'ile" Mo'at said getting up
leyra nodded and got up as well followed by zo'ile "of course my friend anything for you" she said hugging the smaller Forest na'vi.
Mo'at nodded and left the hut, zo'ile looked down at her children "mother why would neytiri give up her child?" Zo'ile asked Leyra shook her head
"Sometime na'vi forget the ways we were taught, they think they know best until eywa shows that you're wrong. Neytiri gave the child up because some sharp words spoken by her clan" Leyra said as she looked at her daughter, before walking away to grab crushed up herbs
"The day will come where we will have to tell her but until then, she will be raised the way of our people" leyra said gently rubbed the herd on the baby's head making her giggle in her sleep zo'ile smiled.
"Good night mother" zo'ile said as she walked out of the hut
"Good night ma daughter"
Zo'ile walked into her hut on to meet the chest of her mate Nawmrui.
"Ma Zo'ile are you and At'ok alright what took so long?" Nawmrui asked before his eyes widden at the sight of the smaller na'vi in his mate and childs arms.
"Ma Nawmrui, Mo'at had came by for a visit and she brought her granddaughter. Neytiri and her mate didn't want the baby, when I laid eyes on her I felt the great mother telling me to take her in as my own." Zo'ile said holding the baby's close
Nawmrui slowly got down on his knees to see the baby clearly, y/n had opened her sleepy eyes before giggle and reaching out for nawmrui gently placing her hand on his nose.
Nawmrui smiled "Oh great mother has blessed us with not one amazing child but now two. I am blessed" Nawmrui said as he got up and gently hugged his wife and his two children.
The next morning y/n had been introduced to the clan and they watched as y/ns kuru was connected to their spirit tree. The tree grew brighter and the clan was overjoyed to see the newest member of the Dushnikh clan
Nawmrui and zo'ile stared at their two children with nothing but love and care.
If the Sully's didn't want y/n the Dushnikh clan definitely did.

Chapter 1 ~ 16 years ago ~
(names and characters are the same)
The battle had ended with hells gates had just ended when neytiri had gone into labor. Soon new born baby cries filled the area, but instead of being joyful some looked at Neytiri in horror, some looked at her with pity, and others looked confused.
Neytiri had given birth to twins, a baby girl and a baby boy. The girl came out wrong, she was much smaller than a normal na'vi newborn she was human newborn size, her skin was a tannish color with light blue strips, she had five fingers and toes, na'vi ears, nose, kuru, and tail. While the boy came out perfect.
Neytiri held the small new born looking up at Jake with unsure "Ma Jake this isn't right. She looks like a sky person." she started Jake shock his head "don't worry my love." he replied the clan started talking "that baby is a demon!" "You need to get rid of it!" "Demon blood!" "Neytiri gave birth to a sky demon!" "She did mate with a dream walker" whispers from the clan spread quickly. Mo'at and the elders didn't like the negative comments they were saying about a innocent baby. Mo'at and the elders we're happy about the babies.
~ An hour later ~
"I am sorry my daughter but you are not normal. Great mother forgive me" Neytiri said as she raised a knife up above her new born daughter. But as neytiri brought the knife down Mo'at walked in gasped as she quickly snatched the new born away from neytiri while hissing at her, as Mo'at yanked the baby away the tip of the knife had cut the baby, leaving a bloody cut from the baby's left shoulder to her right side.
"What are you doing?!" Mo'at yelled as she quickly tried to stop the bleeding as the new born cried.
Neytiri huffed "Look at that demon! It's wrong! It is bad blood!" Neytiri hissed back at her mother.
Jake soon walked into his hut only to see the two women hissing at each other. "What's going on here?!" Jake asked quickly getting between the two
"My daughter tried to kill my granddaughter!" Mo'at hissed while shielding the new born away from her daughter.
Neytiri looked at her mother than her mate "that is demon blood! You've become one of the people and gave up your old body! Why did it come out not normal?! We must get rid of it for the good of the people and our family!" Neytiri said grabbing Jakes arm Jake looked down at the new born in Mo'ats arms.
"I agree with neytiri, we need to do what's best for the family and our clan" Jake started as he reached for the new born but Mo'at slapped his hand away and hissed. "ENOUGH!! I am still tsahík and my word out ways yours!" Mo'at hissed standing tall neytiri and Jake ears dropped "I will take this child somewhere safe." Mo'at said walking past her daughter, grandson and son in law. Before walking out the curtains Mo'at looked over her shoulder at Neytiri "you disappoint me daughter" Mo'at said lowly, neytiri gasped before falling to her knees as her mother walked out. Jake quickly hugged neytiri and neteyam.
"Maybe one day your mother will understand our point of few" Jake said neytiri cried but nodded.
~later~
After a few hours Mo'at finally came to her destination, the village of the Dushnikh clan a terrifying, strong, tall, green orcish, but caring clan of Navis located in the swampy area of Pandora.
Mo'at was welcomed with open arms before they sent her to the tsahík tent, where she sat in front of another tsahík, the tsahíks daughter, and grandson.
"Mo'at my old friend, it's nice to see you but what's brought you to our home?" The elder in front Mo'at asked
"Leyra my old friend, my daughter had just given birth a few hours ago and she tried to send her to eywa because she looks different." Mo'at said as she opened the baby carrier on her chest.
The elder na'vi and her daughter gasped "These young ones always think they know what's best. Did you talk to her about her fate if she does this?" Leyra said as she looked at the small tan na'vi child staring back at her with an incorrect toothless smile.
Mo'at nodded as she looked down at the few hours old infant "yes but my daughter and her husband didn't listen.. they said they know what's best for their family."
Leyra and Mo'at stopped talking when the toddler had walked up beside Mo'at staring down at the new born who giggled up at him.
"Tsmuke (sister)" At'ok said as he giggled when the baby grabbed his finger
Zo'ile huffed "neytiri mated with a dream walker, but as soon as the baby looks like one she wants to *growl*" Zo'ile froze before taking a breather
"Mo'at, mother. Let me raise the baby." Zo'ile said sitting straight up and reaching out for the baby.
Mo'at and Leyra froze before smiling "Leyra you're daughter is a true daughter of ewya" Mo'at said Leyra smiled and nodded
"That she is Mo'at" Leyra smiled at her daughter.
Mo'at gently gave the baby to Zo'ile. The baby looked so small in her hands.
Zo'ile started down at the baby with nothing but love and care for the child and At'ok was excited about the baby as well.
"Her mother refused to name her, so I named her y/n" Mo'at said
Zo'ile and Leyra repeated the name and At'ok tried but miss pronounced it making y/n giggle even more.
"Mo'at I promise she will be protected and loved by the people, and you will be recognized as her grandmother as well" Zo'ile said as At'ok climbed into his mother's arms holding y/n as he curled around her into his mother's chest slowly falling asleep.
(Not my art! Belongs to ARTSOFMETAMOOR. Go find them on Tumblr love their work)
Mo'at smiled sadly "thank you Leyra, Zo'il." Mo'at said standing up
Leyra followed "of course my friend. You are welcome anytime."
Mo'at and Leyra hugged before Mo'at left.
Zo'ile told her mother good night before walking to her hut.
Once she got inside her hut she bumped into her maates chest
"Ma Zo'ile are you and At'ok alright what took so long?" Nawmrui asked before his eyes widden at the sight of the smaller tan na'vi in his mate and childs arms.
"Ma Nawmrui, Mo'at had came by for a visit and she brought her granddaughter. Neytiri and her mate didn't want the baby, when I laid eyes on her I felt the great mother telling me to take her in as my own." Zo'ile said holding the baby's close
Nawmrui slowly got down on his knees to see the baby clearly, y/n had opened her sleepy eyes before giggle and reaching ot for nawmrui gently placing her hand on his nose.
The tree grew brighter than anyone has ever seen before and the clan was overjoyed to see the newest member of the Dushnikh clan
Nawmrui and zo'ile stared at their two children with nothing but love and care.
If the Sully's didn't want y/n the Dushnikh clan definitely did.
(My drawing)
Hi Tumblr, this is gonna be a bit of a vent post. Sorry..
So all my life I've been the oldest out of 3. I've been the responsible one, the babysitter, the golden child. Earlier this year, my Mumma moved in with 2 of her kids. One of them is turning 3 soon, and the other is a few months younger than me. In the household, I'm still the oldest.
The parents have plans to go to Boston, the week before Christmas, to see Mumma's family. That includes her third child, he's 24. I'm no longer the oldest. I know it's stupid, but I freak out everytime I think about it.
I'm getting replaced. There's a new oldest, a new responsibility one, a new golden child. I'll be useless to the family. I won't have anything to contribute! I'm not funny and I can't light up the room like Hero. I'm not strong and I can't put an end to bullshit like Andrew. All I am is being responsible and being good and polite.
I know it'll never happen, but I'm scared I'll just be cast aside, when we meet Shane. No one will want to talk to or hang out with me because there's a new oldest. One who's cool and above the drinking age and has a girlfriend. I'm scared that now that I'm not the oldest anymore, everyone will remember how much of an asshole I was when I was younger and that'll be my new title. Axton the Asshole. The second oldest. The quiet jerky selfish mean one who hates everything and everyone.
I want to meet Shane, but I'm just scared everything will change when we do. I'm worried that everyone will forget about me and I'll just be sitting alone the whole time we're there.
I hope typing this will help me get over it.
being the oldest daughter is being yelled at to do 50 million chores while your younger siblings sit on the couch and play video games
wait new tag game. tell me if you’re good or terrible at cooking then tell me where u fall among ur siblings, like oldest youngest etc etc
Reblog and put in the tags what trait you usually have in common with your favorite characters.
oldest children say:
“no no, it’s fine. you guys go on without me. you guys decide without me”
“do you like it mum?”
is there anything i can do? just let me know”
“you never used to let me… no, never mind. it’s different with them, i get it”
“ok ok yeah. i’m sorry”
“do you like it mum?”
[to siblings] “i’m telling you so i can help you!”
[to parents] “i know, i’m not their mother… i know i don’t know everything. i was just trying to help”
“no of course i won’t leave, i won’t break up the family”
“ … it was actually my idea”
“please just listen to me”
“do you like it mum?”
Get this dog away from me right fucking now
Has anyone else’s mom ever just made a major decision that affects the whole family without consulting you? Only to put the majority of the responsibility on you? Even though she did it? But you’re the asshole for complaining about it.
Being an older sibling, and seeing a younger sibling upset will never stop being painful.
It only adds to the pain when you aren't equally close to all of them, and the one with the most distance is the one in need of help.
We've never been overly close, and they seldom, if ever, come to me for help. Our parents were more gentle raising them, so they grew up healthier and more independent. That's a bit of a double edged sword, though. I could at least try to calm the others down and encourage them, but not this time. They probably don't want me to, and I wouldn't know how, even if they did.
It's strange how people who grew up in such close quarters, with the same parents have such drastically different connections with each other. The rest of us a close-knit clique, with a thin, frail connection to that island. It's not like any of us deliberately excluded each other growing up, and it's not like any of us saw it coming. It's no fault of our own, and it's upsetting, but that's the way things came out.
I think your problems are very valid and your trauma is not any less important than others' . I can't speak for you but wanted to say that you don't have to think you're luckier than others. Also being neurodivergent already means you have a lot of struggles. Maybe reason why you think you're luckier than others is because you were used to pushing aside your issues in favor of others. That's rough life, I hope you know everything you go through is equally as valid as anything else
Thank you for the ask, and thank you for the validation.
I think you're kind of right about me pushing my issues aside, but it's probably also just another consequence of abuse. "It could've been worse." That's always what people are told, and a lot of us are gaslit into thinking it wasn't nearly as bad as it was.
At this point, its so deeply ingrained in my mind. I can't really help but to think that way sometimes. I'm working on it, though. Maybe it'll stop one day and I'll be able to completely distance myself from everyone involved.
Once again, thank you for your kindness. I hope you and everyone you care about are living your best lives. If not, then I wish you the best of luck on your journey to happiness.
Once again, the failed prototype takes a backseat to its creator's magnum opus. That's how it always happens.
A frame, gifted to me for my birthday sat empty because I had no friends and no fun memories with which to fill it.
They were put there instead.
"This is temporary."
It wasn't.
I used to shine so brightly, the brightest star in the sky, blocking out so many others. I was the pride of the galaxy. Now that I'm older, I've burned out and essentially been replaced. I lay here, wasting away with little to show for the time I've spent living.
I was gifted a frame once again. This time, it had something in it. A photo of the stars, the way they were in the sky over the place I was born, on the very night I was born.
Their photo sits on top of mine. In my frame.
How fitting. How poetic.
"Don't act like they're the favorite. Or like they have special privileges."
They clearly are, and they do.
I felt almost numb about it at first. I didn't want to be bothered by it, but I was. The tears fell immediately. I can barely complain about it. It always ends in my words being brushed off or a full blown argument. Never an apology or even an admission of wrongdoing.
How dare you. How dare you do this. It's such a small act, but the hate and disrespect feel earth shattering. I know I'm being dramatic, and it hurts that much more because of it. I know I sound crazy for crying and complaining about it. After all, it's a picture frame. It's not the end of the world. It feels like it, though. I'm literally nauseous.
"You have to toughen up. You can't be a soggy little sad sack."
I don't want to toughen up. People who have to steel themselves often lose their compassion, empathy, and patience. That's one of the many things I hate and fear. Those emotions don't disappear. They only fester and ferment until they bubble over. You could've had juice, and then maybe wine, but no. Now you have vinegar, and you can't just keep trying to hold it in. It will escape whether you like it or not. You can't keep pouring more juice into a full glass and expect it to not spill.
I shouldn't have to toughen up about this. Something so stupid shouldn't be happening in the first place. They knew the pictures were coming. They could've bought a new frame. They aren't expensive.
"His picture is from an achievement. Yours isn't. What do you need the frame for? You have no achievements and you haven't since you were younger."
I wanted to break the frame as soon as I saw the picture. Life has been kicking my ass, and I managed to keep my cool until I came home that terrible night and saw that photo.
Why do I have to be the broken, failed prototype? Why do I have to be defective? It isn't fair.
I'd let him use my eyeliner
