Love it
Got my DELF exam results back and I officially have the French B2 diploma!! I got an 81% and though I think I could have done better, I am just glad that the entirely nightmarish routine of reading 92728 articles and listening to 98228 podcasts about French sociopolitical problems everyday is gone! Now I just have to focus on Spanish and Italian in order to obtain the DELE and the CILS…
Foreign Universities
Hi!
Are there any Americans on here that have gone to/are going to college in a different country? Like, not just for a semester or year. I’ve seriously been thinking about doing this because 1. It’s cheaper, 2. I want to improve my French, 3. I am very interested in other cultures & I want to major in Global Studies or something
I was thinking Quebec, like Concordia or McGill because I don’t know of any other English-speaking colleges there, and then doing a year or so in France. But I know that college works differently in other countries, like, people go to a two-year school after high school and only 3 years of college or something, and nobody lives on campus... And my college counselor doesn’t seem to know anything about going to college abroad so she’s no help.Â
It would be very helpful if you could tell me about your experiences, especially if you transferred from a US school to one in a foreign country. I’m not in college yet but there is a lack of info out there about this specific topic; I guess it’s very uncommon for Americans to enroll in a school in another country. Thanks!

"The String" (A-) So I recently went on a movie marathon and watched a lot of gay indie films, and this one was one of my picks. "The String" is quite the drama piece and showcases fine performances from its leads. Not a lot of explicit nudity, but it tells an engagingly erotic and romantic story about two men raised in a conservatively religious culture while embracing modern and tolerant conventions on homosexuality.
I would just like to add that, in college, I had a whole chapter on French swear words
me to an american friend: so like, you could shake someone's hand and say ça va, but also watch them run into a brick wall and respond with ça va
