Fossil Fuels - Tumblr Posts
The politics of solving climate change may, paradoxically, require producing more fossil fuels for a while.
In 2023, the U.S. witnessed a surge in clean-energy initiatives with substantial climate-related spending, nearly 300 clean-energy projects announced, and record-breaking electric-vehicle sales. President Joe Biden proudly stated that America is leading the global fight against climate change. However, paradoxically, the U.S. also emerged as the world's top oil producer, surpassing historical records and accounting for almost 20% of global oil production.

We as a society also need to move infrastructure away from depending on fossil fuels. Profit should not come at the cost of the planet or people's well-being.
The technology and means to build them already exist, be it electrical or liquid fuel. Alternate fueled transport, nuclear fusion, and even energy efficient parts exist already. Implementing these means are well and good, but please put effort into funding and billing for new regulations and infrastructure bills to this. Only by pressure and hits to the wallet will those responsible listen.
This does not relate on my previous blogs.

i love how you know it's bad when hedge funds are actually doing the thing that's good in the long run (it's always for profits in the next quarter)
the professor that wrote this article is just as baffled and i love them
Billionaires and other wealthy individuals should not have the right to appropriate and use thousands of times more fossil fuels than the rest of us. Another example of inequality being a big cause of our climate crisis.
