I just finished The Island, by Natasha Preston. My choices for my next book are The Cheerleaders by Kara Thomas, Caraval by Stephanie Garber, or Half Blood by Jennifer L. Armentrout. Please help, I'm indecisive. I'd also like to look into other Natasha Preston books, but first I need to know if they're all standalone cliff hangers. Anyone know?
I just finished A Curse for True Love and guys there is nothing of equal value.
Eva: I'm nervous.
Jacks: Is this your first time?
Eva: No, I’ve been nervous before.
Me watching everyone get their copies of ACFTL when mine hasn’t even shipped
I think I've now illustrated/papercraft every corner of this scene now. But it's such a great contrast to Night-Glimmer (shown side-by-side on the last slide). In Night-Glimmer, we're in Evangeline's perspective as Jacks carries her to a warm and safe tree-house. But turn the camera around, and from Jacks's POV, we see a dark void behind him, surrounded by the snow-tipped pine trees, a trapped feeling, stars hanging out of reach. It's still touches on the magical aspects of this scene, but frames a very different perspective! This piece is officially licensed and available in both shops (link in bio!)
do OUABH fans just accept the fact that we never know what Jacks’ apples are for? just a question because i might be going insane to try to figure it out.
If Stephanie Garber were to write another story in the Caraval universe, Chaos and LaLa would be the perfect choice, I also wouldn’t mind Luc, if he gets a good redemption arc because I see the potential. Marisol too, but only with a redemption arc
How is Apollo going to be cursed three SEPARATE times in the span of like a month AND be an asshole… pick a struggle please
She'd disappeared like a broken star, leaving the world untouched, save for the bits of missing light that no one would ever see again.
~ Caraval, Stephanie Garber
It reached out to the broken parts of her like a caress. The type of touch that moves through damaged flesh, past fractured bones and into a person's wounded soul.

Two people choosing to give tiny vulnerable parts of themselves to each other.

the Dragna Sisters!
couldn’t help but draw these too as well! I really like Tella’s! I also feel like Caraval doesn’t get as much praise as OUABH and that makes me sad because Caraval is a lot better in my opinion.
Do you get that feeling where you have a fan theory and it's actually a positive one and you want to share it with everyone but at the same time you don't want to Jinx it but you can't keep it in as well ? Just like Tom Holland struggles to keep the frog in his mouth.
Caraval by Stephanie Garber, page 55
Jacks. My heart. My prince of hearts. I love you.
"I imagine the game wouldn’t be the same in the light,” Scarlett answered. “People think no one sees all the nasty things they do in the dark. The foul acts they commit, or the lies they tell as part of the game. Caraval takes place at night because you like to watch, and see what people do when they think there are no consequences."
