Just realized that the only member of the l4j who has never met Boba Fett is the guy who regularly called himself Jabba the Hutt
well we know exactly WHY they'd meet
(commission info // tip jar!)
Kanan deserved to be able to raise his son.

"The peace never was an option" - Chopper
The further I get into rebels, the more I realize that Hera Syndulla is only the voice of reason among the Ghost crew by default.
Like, this woman is not normal. She could have anybody in the galaxy and she went for a wanted criminal with superpowers. She ran away from her family's palatial mansion to go live in a camper with said criminal boyfriend. Her job experience includes "getaway driver" and that's it. Some punk tried to steal from her and she immediately went "where are the adoption papers, I'm ready to sign". The only reason Hera seems normal is because her family consists of a kleptomaniac, a pyromaniac, a man who spent the first fifteen years of his life in a monastery and the next fifteen years of his life getting drunk, a mass murderer trapped in the body of a trash bin, and a guy who probably lists aggravated assault as a hobby on his Grindr profile.
Hera is the most reasonable member of the Ghost crew. Which is kind of like being the tallest Ewok.
My Issues with the New Star Wars Canon Books
Okay, I have issues with the New Star Wars Canon is with what I perceive as retcons. Example: In the novels ‘Tarkin’ and ‘Lords of the Sith’ Vader is known to some Rebels and elements of the criminal underworld five to eight years post RotS. However, in Season 2 of Rebels, which takes place about ten years later the Ghost Crew has no idea who Vader is and seeing that Hera’s father tried to assassinate the Emperor and Vader during the events of ‘Lords of the Sith’ it seems unlikely that she hadn’t at least heard of him. About half way through S2 the Ghost Crew still has no idea who the Sith Lord is and Ahsoka barely reacts when the Seventh Sister name drops Vader.
What the heck???
Then it’s said that Vader is only known to a select few and that he’s basically the boogeyman. He only goes where the Emperor orders him and he leaves no survivors to spread rumors; any Rebel Cell he faces is destroyed down to the last person. As far as anyone in charge knows the Cell went quiet and when inquires were made they learned they had been wiped out.
I guess an argument could be made that because Cham Syndulla was separate from the rest of the Rebellion and trying to shield his daughter from some of what he was doing she didn’t know about Vader and he didn’t share the information with anyone else but seeing that at the beginning of the book Cham looses a ship and it’s crew to Vader and all the ship’s commander had too say ‘Vader is right behind us’ for Cham to go ‘crap, there’s nothing to be done; unless I want to get all of us killed.’ my feeling is that Vader had be known somewhat, enough that they knew his name and methods.
Moving on slightly another big problem I had with Lords of the Sith was the fact that Cham doesn’t think of Hera and she’s only mentioned at the end by someone else when they ask Cham to think of his daughter. He doesn’t think that he’s trying to free Ryloth so that Hera and all these other children can grow up free and don’t have to be afraid of the Empire or used as sex/pleasure slaves. Instead he keeps telling himself that he’s a freedom fighter and not a terrorist.
Moving on to ‘A New Dawn’ Hera says that this isn’t her first solo mission but she sure acts like it; making a detour because she overhears something that might prove useful but it doesn’t pan out which leads to her missing the very important meeting with the informant that later turns up dead. Yes things work out but still.
Don’t get me started about ‘Heir to the Jedi’ it felt like Luke took three steps forward in his exploration of the Force and because of the movies took three steps back. He uses the Force to up a fork and twist noodles around it and lift it up to his mouth six months after ANH but between then and TESB he didn’t try to lift anything else that he knew he could with his hands? And they kill off the girl, Nakari, for no reason that I can tell besides maybe she’s not around in the movies or mentioned but why couldn’t it have been a one time thing her work with the Rebellion?
And here i will add another mention of Vader before Rebels said he wasn’t known to the rest of the galaxy: Nakari tells Luke that her mother was part of a band and they wrote and sang a song about Vader’s many prosthetics and were sentenced to the Spice Mines of Kessel for it, because neither Vader or the Emperor had a sense of humor and when Luke tries to help her feel better, that maybe they can rescue them, she tells him that they were sent there ten years ago so they are more than likely dead.
I feel that Ahsoka should have taken place a little later in the timeline instead of a yearish after RotS but that’s just me.
I haven’t read Lost Stars, Leia Princess of Alderaan yet as well as a few other books.
I will post something about what i have liked about some books.
Funny HeadCanon Image
So, for those familiar with the Rebels episode ‘Twin Suns’ from the Third Season one scene keeps bouncing around my mind when i remember the opening scene: Maul is lost and screams ‘Kenobi’ in angry frustration. I imagine that Obi-Wan is a short distance away, maybe hiding behind a boulder, stiffling laughter. Then I imagine Obi-Wan spending all the time Maul was on Tatooine looking for him going in all sorts of different directions and dangerous places before doubling back and going someplace else; all the time laughing at how dumb Maul was.
Whether or not this is true I don’t care and you’ll have to pry the image of a laughing Obi-Wan (Ben) Kenobi hiding behind a rock as Maul screams for him nearby from my cold dead hands,
Why Rex, in my opinion, Shouldn’t Have Survived Rebels
Rex shouldn’t have survived Rebels because he could have severely damaged what Luke believed happened to his father.
Imagine for a few minutes that you knew next to nothing about your parents. From a young age you were told that your father ‘did bad things’ and that’s what lead him to an early grave. Then you meet someone who knew your father and they told you that he wasn’t doing ‘bad things’ he was in fact a war hero and a great man who was betrayed and murdered by someone he trusted. Then the man dies before you can ask him more questions. Wouldn’t you seek out those that were still alive that knew him?
Now imagine you served under someone during wartime, or in emergency service, and you admired them greatly and when they died you thought they didn’t have any family. If you discovered that they had a child that was born about the time they died wouldn’t you want to meet them and if they asked share stories about their dead parent?
I my opinion Rex would have wanted to meet Luke and Luke would have wanted to meet Rex. They would have wanted to meet, or if the Rebellion was keeping Luke’s identity a secret Luke would have wanted to meet Rex to ask him about his father and I can’t see Hera not at least trying to arrange the opportunity for them to meet and talk.
Luke and Rex meeting would have put holes in Obi-Wan’s narrative about Vader since Rex more than likely would have heard if Obi-Wan had been training/working with a Jedi Padawan and would have told Luke that Obi-Wan had trained his father, something that Obi-Wan had neglected to mention
Not to mention Rex no doubt knew that Anakin didn’t have many friends in the Jedi Order and was closest to Obi-Wan and he would have known that Palpatine was someone Anakin had considered a friend.
The whole thing would leave Luke with more questions than answers.
Yes, the argument could be made that Rex didn’t leave Lothal much but then why did he leave to help at Endor? We know that Hera left Lothal a couple of times since she was at Yavin IV, Scarif and one or two other locations after the events of Rebels. It wouldn’t have been that hard for Rex to accompany Hera to Rebel Headquarters and request to speak to Luke or for Hera to extend the offer for Luke to meet Rex.
However, this is just my opinion and maybe I’m wrong about Rex being able to poke holes in Obi-Wan’s tale to Luke to the point Luke would be suspcious and maybe they did meet prior to TESB and Rex admitted that he wasn’t privy to all the dealings of the Jedi and he wasn’t on Coruscant at the time so maybe Obi-Wan had taken to training a new Padawan and Anakin hadn’t mentioned it to him yet or it had been done shortly after the Battle of Coruscant and ended up leaving Luke with more questions than answers.
Or maybe Rex didn’t know that Obi-Wan trained Anakin since on Dagobah Yoda did warn Luke that that if he strayed too far towards the Dark Side it would consume him ‘as if did Obi-Wan’s Apprentice’ and if Luke had known that his father was Obi-Wan’s only known apprentice he would have asked Yoda more questions instead of just saying ‘Vader’ and asking if the Dark Side was stronger.
Does anyone know if Rex knew that Anakin was Obi-Wan’s Padawan/Apprentice? If you can answer the question I’ll let you choose the name of a character in one of my fics.
And maybe Rex didn’t remember anymore and couldn’t put that hole in Obi-Wan’s story but he couldn’t back it up either ‘cause he didn’t know/remember.
My Star Wars Headcanons
I have only two Star Wars Headcanons because I am very confident that I won’t have them destroyed or disproven,
1: Shmi Skywalker was Force Sensitive. This seems to be supported by Canon as Anakin, according to the AtoC novelization, was able to follow his bond with her across the desert and fond her (also one of the novelizations for TPM Qui-Gon notes that she’s Force Sensitive enough to be a powerful Jedi and that whoever Anakin’s father was he had to be a powerful Force Sensitive in order for Anakin to be powerful).
Yes, the novelizations aren’t fully Canon but the ideas are there,
2: Anakin was seeing Padme’s spirit/soul when he asked her if she was an Angel and not just her outer appearance.
Going back to TPM novelization Anakin adds more to his description of Angels: good and kind and make hardened criminals cry.
But stepping away from the novelization and examining other Canon sources it seems that Force Sensitivities can sense what is in a person’s heart and/or soul which can manifest in physical sensations. We have at least three or more Canon sources where characters have described feeling cold, for two of the characters it was in reference to the presence of a Dark Sider: Vader. Luke describes the cave on Dagobah as ‘cold’ and Yoda tells him it’s a place of evil (whether or not that’s true remains to be seen). And than Anakin tells the Jedi Council that he feels cold which they seem to attribute to him feeling fear.
Anyway, thank you for your time.
