Day Two, Garden
Drabble - Fluff
Warnings: none
Prompt list: @superfallingstars
Listening to children converse with one another has always been weirdly therapeutic to me. Though, Iâve never really figured out why. I have always assumed it is because of the way kids express themselves, how they show emotions. I think I admire that, and am jealous of it as well. Unbridled and uncaring, not holding back.
âHonesty is the best policyâ as my mother used to say.
Adults are different in their mannerisms around one another, as they learn speaking the truth isnât always the right thing. Borders and built and facades are made to hide behind. Who we truly are is hidden, and lost, left behind with the childish hopes and dreams.
I gently pressed down on the rich dirt that surrounded the large, orange pumpkins Pomona and I had been growing. The pumpkins were growing at a steady rate, and would be ready for the Halloween Feast in no time.
As I pat the dirt down, I took note of my now dirtied appearance that was sat in the grass. My overalls were caked in dirt at the bottom, my boots now taken on the color of mud around it. Luckily, my woolen sweater was left untouched by nature.
The sweater was warm, but slightly rough from being worn time and time again. The coarse feeling of the knitted wool against my skin wasnât necessarily unpleasant, but it wasnât entirely welcome either.
I patted down more fertilizer as I listened to the sounds around me. The chatter of happy students, the swaying of trees in the wind, the soft hum of an incoming rain shower, and the occasional chirp of an owl. All positive sounds Iâd say.
As I listened to the environment around me, my motions stilled to tune into the sounds. I listened as the chattering died down, and the sounds of fabric and footsteps faded in the distance as if the students were scared away.
I only knew one person who could invoke such a reaction out of the students without uttering even a word.
âGardening at this hour, _____?â
Severus questioned from behind me, looming over my crouched form as I went back to adding more fertilizer to the soil.
âYeah.â
I replied simply, looking over my shoulder and glancing at Severus.
WaitâŠ
I did a double take.
In his right hand, he was holding a bucket of herbs, most likely ones he had foraged from the forbidden forest. In his left, he held a thermos.
I gave him a grin, wiping off my hands on a rag Hagrid had lended me as I looked at the thermos he carried. I stood up and dusted off my overalls to the best of my ability.
âPlanning for an evening excursion, Severus?â
I teased the man, looking at him.
ââŠ.â
He didnât say anything, staying silent instead, refusing to look me in the eyes.
Suddenly, I felt the thermos pushed into my hand as Severus stepped closer to me, an indescribable expression flashing across his face.
âItâs for you.â
He said, in his deep, velvety voice.
âFor⊠me?â
I was confused. I had known Severus for a few years now, and he was never a person to give anyone anything.
Severus looked me in the eyes, an almost determined expression across his face. His cheeks tinted with a slightly rosy color. I assumed it was from the cold, but hoped it was the cause of something else.
Severus looked eager to change the topic.
âI like your garden.â
I smiled softly, holding the thermos to my chest.
âI like it too.â
Yet, I never took my eyes off his.

Day Three, Haunt
Drabble - Fluff
Warnings: none
Prompt list: @superfallingstars
âItâs not that important⊠We can cancel.â
A collective gasp rang throughout the staff room.
âYou canât possibly be serious!â Minerva spoke sharply, looking at Severus with a glare she only reserved for studentsâŠand Severus annoyingly enough.
Severus loathed staff meeting days. Not only did everyone have far too many questions for their own good, Dumbledore seemed to almost relish his discomfort and prolong the meetings simply to watch him suffer.
"I for once agree with Minerva,â Aurora Sinistra declared. âYou canât possibly be suggesting we cancel the Halloween Ball because of it?â
âIndeed I am.â Severus stated, taking a sip of tea before continuing. âI highly recommend cancelling the ball, Headmaster. To host a ball a day after the Chamber of Secrets has been opened will only cause the Ministry to believe you unstable in your position.â
Dumbledore chuckled, a knowing glint in his eye. That ticked off Severus even more.
âNow, now Severus. Letâs not be too hasty. The children love the Halloween Ball.â Dumbledore spoke, a smile on his face.
Severus rolled his eyes.
âNow, next order of business,âDumbledore stated in a jolly manner, popping a lemon candy in his mouth, âwho would like to set up the haunted house with Severus?â
âI volunteer.â
Severus whipped his head to the left to see who would volunteer to do such a thing with him out of all the staff members.
Of course, it was Professor ____. Severus found he didnât exactly mind her helping him, which was unusual.
The staff meeting slowly dispersed, a few professors staying behind to sort out some last minute things as Professor ____ walked up to him.
âYou ready to get your haunt on, Severus?â
She exclaimed excitedly, smiling up at him with joy as she put a hand on her hip.
âNo.â He replied, already annoyed Dumbledore assigned him to do something he didnât ask for.
âPerfect!â _____ replied, her chipper attitude unbothered by his moody and bothered expression.
Severus couldnât control his mouth as his lips curved upwards.

Day Four, Torn
Drabble - Fluff
Warnings: mild cursing
(Sorry the post is a bit late, yesterday I went to get my phone fixed, and the man who âfixedâ my phone, messed up my back camera. It took a while to get a refund)
â____â
Severus' weary form entered the room, his steps heavy from a long day's work. He cradled a steamy mug of coffee in his hands, the aroma mingling with the quiet hum of winter seclusion. His dark hair was unkempt, a testament to the hours spent hunched over his work, but his gaze, heavy-lidded yet sharp, found mine as he leaned against the doorframe.
"Yes?" I inquired, setting my knitting tools and unfinished project aside, the soft woolen blanket and half-knit glove sitting patiently on the coffee table next to me.
With an almost strained voice, he revealed that Minerva had requested our help in decorating for the Halloween Ball.
Though he attempted to mask it, his dislike for the task was apparent. Since our marriage, I had been the designated decorator of our home, handling all festive touches. Despite his aversion to decorating, he never complained, readily taking on the role of chef and housecleaner. His expression exuded a mixture of resignation and reluctance, but his agreement to help was evident.
âLetâs get started then. We might have some old Halloween decorations stored away," I suggested to my husband as he approached and sat down beside me. He didnât respond; instead, he leaned against me and planted a kiss on my neck, remaining silent.
â_____â Severus croaked, his voice cracking from his long day of yelling at students no doubt. He looked at me with tired eyes, kissing me on the lips as I faced him.
He gently reached a hand behind my head, pulling me closer to him and deepening the kiss. He put a hand down on the cushion of the chair I was on to steady himself.
Suddenly, a rip of fabric rang out in the room. Severus and I both looked down to search for the source of the sound.
âShit.â Severus grumbled.
âShit indeed. The chair is torn!â I glared at my husband. Yet, I could never stay angry at him for long anyways.
Severus kissed me softly, gently caressing my cheek in the kiss. âSorry love.â

Day Six, Roots
Drabble - Fluff/Angst..?
Warnings: persistent reader, relationship boundaries possibly being ignored
Prompt list: @superfallingstars
(I understand how late this is⊠bear with me)
Check out my pinned post on my page for more Snapetober content!
As far back as I could remember, Severus had never been one for flowers. He found them messy and unpleasant, for whatever reasons.
Sure, he found use for every plant that crossed his path, from mint to foxglove. Though, he never used flowers for decoration, or âchildish distractionsâ as he called them. He was blind of the beauty they beheld, I thought I would simply have to remind him.
Of course, he never dismissed me for liking and using flowers, yet he never used them himself for anything beside potions. He pretended as if they didnât exist.
Looking back into the very early days of our relationship, I realize that I might have pestered him too much. I asked him, many times, why he never got me flowers. I suspect it might have been the pressure I put on him, as one morning, a small lavender sprig lie on top of my bedside table.
Of course, this did not let up my interest as of why he avoided flowers so much. But of course, the answer was the same as it always was:
âThey are nothing but a burden. Blooming for a minute, then shriveling up and withering.â
One dark and particularly dreary evening, Severus and I were lying in bed. His left arm over my torso as his chest was facing my back. His breath was hot on my ear as we simply lie there, enjoying one anotherâs company.
Then, Severus whispered into my ear softly. âFlowers remind me of my roots.â
Finally, I was satisfied with an answer.
Sooo
Iâve almost finished the first part of the first chapter of my fanfic (yes, there will be chapters divided in parts because I am planning to make it a long one), but Iâm really not sure about that. Like, there are a lot of mistakes (at least i think so) âcause Englishâs not my first language n stuff
Also, I have an idea of writing a fic with y/n and teen Severus, can you suggest me in which house I should put the reader for that one?
a little spoiler, hehe
"Shhh"
Severus Snape x professor!slytherin!reader
Chapter 1, part 1
Words counter: 1 150
Warnings: alcohol
Film/book: Philosopher/Sorcererâs stone
================================
You were excited to come back to Hogwarts for teaching History of Magic. You were excited to meet your teachers, most of all your favourite, Professor Slughorn, the Potions Master and head of the Slytherin house.
You were a powerful witch, but you choose to work at school because you always wanted to work with children.
On your first day you came to sit on the table with other professors, you saw familiar faces: Professor McGonagall, Hagrid, Madam Pomfrey and others. But you didnât see Professor Slughorn. You asked Dumbledore:
"Whereâs professor Slughorn? Did he quit?"
"yes, like ten years ago, right after your graduation".
Oh, thatâs really sad, you thought. "Who is the Potion Master now then?"
"Severus Snape, he is a Slytherin too. Maybe you would hear about him when you were in school, he is four years older than you, maybe there were some school rumours about him that youâve heard of".
"I can barely remember my same-yearsâ names, i donât think i would remember him even if i did hear stuff".
"Severus is a great person deep inside, he just doesnât show it so often. I would suggest you to keep a good relationship with him. You may be going on some events together as the youngest teachers here."
You looked at the Potions Master. He had long black hair, dark eyes and pale skin. You turned back to Dumbledore. "Okay then, Iâll try."
At the lunch, you sat next to Severus. Unexpectedly, he talked to you. "So, you happen to be the new professor of History of Magic, am i right?"
"Yes, and you are professor Snape, if iâve been told correct.". He hummed. "Dumbledore said that you are four years older than me so⊠youâre 31 and we happen to be the youn-"
Snape interrupted you. "well, so youâre 27. I thought you were older than me by your⊠appearance". You decided to not pay attention to his tease, because youâll be working together and you didnât wanna get in trouble.
The next day after lunch, Minerva asked all the professors to go to The Three Broomsticks to drink frozen butterbeer.
You were discussing with professor Flitwick and Snape about some work stuff, when Minerva approached you.
"Hello, would you like to go for some butterbeer on Saturday?"
You answered "Yeah, for sure, thatâll be lovely".
"Filius, Severus, what about you?".
"Iâm sorry, Minerva, but I have to do a lot of grading till next week." answered Flitwick.
Severus mumbled: "Drinking butterbeer at The Three Broomsticks Inn⊠disgusting thing to do as a professor.."
McGonagall replied "Oh, well, taking sluts at the Knockturn Alley is definitely better".
"Shut up! Alright..".
You tried hard not to laugh, but a light giggle escaped your mouth.
On Saturday, you came to the Three Broomsticks where you found professors McGonagall, Dumbledore and Sprout. They greeted you and you joined them. You were drinking and talking about some stuff. After a hour and a half, Snape came up to your table. "Sorry for coming late, i was.. choosing what to wear." Minerva looked at Severus and laughed silently. "Youâre wearing the same black suit that you wear everyday, Severus." He took a seat next to Albus and Pomona.
"Uhm so I began to say that when Minerva and me used to be youngâŠ" continued Dumbledore.
You get drunk quickly, so you got drunk from few cups of butterbeer. You began to fall asleep on the table.
"YN, are you alright?" Minerva asked concerned. You have already fell asleep.
"Albus, what should we do?" Dumbledore looked at you for few seconds, then said "Severus, can you please help miss Y/L/N get to her chambers? They are in the dungeon too."
Snape looked at the headmaster, happy on the inside that he could finally leave that place. "Yeah." Severus casted "Wingardium Leviosa" and lifted you in the air, going with you to the dungeon. Minerva mumbled "i tell you, someday this man will give mr. Filch trauma"
Soon you got in the dungeon, Severus unlocked the door to your chambers with the Alohomora spell and entered you bedroom. He slowly put you in your bed and covered you with a blanket, murmuring "hope you wonât remember that I have ever done this." and headed to his chambers.
In the morning, you woke up with a terrible headache, drank a glass of water and sat on your couch. You heard someone knocking on the door, and said "come in". Snape entered.
"is everything alright? Minerva asked me to check on you."
"yes, i think so. Uhm.. why are you checking on me if McGonagall could done this herself?"
Severus rolled his eyes and said "Because âI should keep a good relationship with you and be niceâ and stuff."
"Got it."
"Also, in the evening Dumbledore asked you to come to his office." Snape was heading to the door.
"Why? Did something bad happen?"
He turned back to you and replied: "Iâm not sure i can tell you, professor Y/L/N"
Severus left your chambers.
Later that day, you were going to Dumbledoreâs office. You heard Albus, Severus and Minerva talking:
"Albus, trust me, we should ask her to help us! She is a powerful witch that could protect it!"
"I agree with professor Dumbledore. She is too young for that, we could manage it ourselves."
"Severus, right now we need any defence possible. It is stupid to say that everything will be alright if we wonât increase the Stoneâs protection."
"SILENCE!" Shouted Dumbledore.
"She is here, professor." said Snape.
You entered Dumbledoreâs office. "Good evening. I came a bit earlier but didnât want to interrupt you."
Minerva smiled at you. "Hello, my dear. You should be wondering why youâre here."
"Yeah, kind of."
Albus said: "well, you already know that the third floor corridor on the right hand is out of bounds. Let me tell you now why. Did you heard about the Philosopherâs Stone?"
"Yes. Turns any metal into pure gold and produces the Elixir of Life"
"So, to protect it we have put it in a chamber guarded by six enchantments and creatures, provided by the professors at Hogwarts: Pomona's web of Devil's Snare; Winged Keys, charmed by Filius Flitwick; a life-size board of Wizard's Chess, transfigured and animated by Minerva McGonagall; professor Quirrell's mountain troll; professor Snape's potion riddle and Hagrid's massive three-headed dog, Fluffy, defending the trap door through which the chamber is accessed."
"And why would that stone suddenly need that protection?" You asked.
Minerva answered you before Dumbledore could say anything. "We are afraid that The Dark Lord wants to rise again."
"And thatâs why he wants the Stone.."
"Yes."
Dumbledore said: "and we want you to help us protect it."
"Okay. I will think what i could do."
"Thank you so much, Y/N"
You left the office and headed to the library to do some research.

Iâm so sorry for the leak of Snape moments. In the next parts iâll make more i promise.
Also im sorry for the mistakes iâve made, because English is not my first language. Would love if youâll tell me about them in the comments section.đ€
