Princess Orinjade (Asterix): Bush or Bald?
Hindu scripture is pretty positive about pubes. The Brihadaranyaka Upanishad (c. 700 BCE) compares a woman to fire and her pubic hair to smoke. A smokeshow like Orinjade would certainly be no exception.
Verdict: bush
Draped in Shadows
In the courtyard where the peepal tree sighs, A girl once danced in sunlight’s embrace, Her laughter mingled with temple bells, But faith now lingers like a ghost in this space.
Incense curls, like a serpent's breath, Winding through tales of glory and grace, Yet beneath the vibrant marigold blooms, Lurk whispers of fear that time can’t erase.
The sacred texts, heavy as stone, Speak of dharma, yet silence her pleas, For every prayer, a question lingers, “Why must love bend and break on its knees?”
In the twilight of rituals, colors fade, As the Ganges flows, a relentless stream, With every aarti, her spirit feels caged, Caught in the web of another’s dream.
Once, she sought solace in divine embrace, But the gaze of the faithful grew cold and stern, With every gaze that pierced her soul, The light of devotion began to burn.
The goddess adorned with silken threads, Yet her heart aches under the weight of her chains, For in the shadow of sacred shrines, Love is a battlefield, and faith bears its stains.
As festivals come and go, like fleeting dreams, She stands amidst the echoes, searching for peace, But the mantras sound hollow, the colors bleed, And the truth of her heart lies in pieces, released.
Once, she believed in the lotus’s bloom, But now sees the thorns that cling to the stem, In the temple’s glow, she feels so alone, Her faith, a whisper—a broken hymn.
In the end, as the sun dips low, She lays down her trust in the sacred soil, For the girl who once danced in the light of the divine, Now walks a path where shadows recoil.
Yet beneath the ruins of faith that once soared, A flicker ignites in the ashes of doubt. For from shattered beliefs, new paths may unfold, In the garden of healing, her spirit breaks out.
She whispers to the stars, “I will rise from the dark, With each step I take, I’ll reclaim my own spark.” In the silence, she finds strength to create, A faith not in gods, but in love, unrestrained.

God i cannot wait for what will happen next in the Age of Degeneracy...
The Kaliyuga is the Hindu "dark age" of mankind in which degeneracy will skyrocket!!! It will last another 428.000 years hooray :3
Let's talk about how degenerate we all are :3 :3 :3
Thinking about the evolving tree of religion-philosophy-sciences is wild, like, check it.
So it starts with African religions, then ancient egypt and the beginning of politics, then India and their religions and politics, then China, and Greece, and Rome, and all their philosophers and schools of thought, and then all the lines of thought evolve into countless more lines of thought molded by the events that happen around them, until the modern day!
It's easier to give examples when doing it backwards:
Marxism<-Hegelianism<-Kantianism<-Cartesianism<-Christian Philosophy<-Christian Theology<-Platonism<-Pre-Socratic Philosophy<-Greek Mythology<-Egyptian Mythology<-African Mythology
So to study Marxism properly, you have to have studied all of those before it! GREAT :3
Fuck George Lucas.
Are you seriously trying to tell me that you wrote Buddhism well enough that actual Buddhists appreciate and acknowledge your Jedi as decent-ish representation of their values, and then you wrote fucking Temple of Doom!!!!
You demonized and vilified my culture and my religion, and the worst part is that you have done better before. Star Wars came out before Indiana Jones; you have no excuse of 'you got better'. Fuck you and that franchise.
You know, I see all these people who aren't Buddhists who claim that Buddhist doctrine and Buddhist teachings were portrayed really well in Star Wars, and I'm like... uhhh....
I'm just saying, as a Hindu, the man who created fucking Temple of Doom being treated as a source of Asian religions doesn't exactly sit well with me.
are there any hindu star wars fans out there? i want to write like a serious meta about star wars and hinduism, and i want to consult other people's views and opinions before publishing a piece that might misrepresent our religion and way of life.
no but Hindutva is so fucking stupid, because it’s a bunch of old men going around imposing a religion whose main thing is that it’s not a religion; it’s a way of life. a way of life where the gods don’t give a shit if you aren’t a believer and non-believers aren’t going to burn for their sins. a religion that preaches tolerance, the importance of doing good deeds even through you are trapped in a cycle of life, death and suffering. seriously, to break from the cycle, you just have to lead a good life doing good deeds and to help others. nowhere in hindu scriptures does it say that you will not attain moksha if you aren't a hindu; just do the good deeds, and you will become one with God. hinduism is like ‘let live and do good’ it says nowhere that you are a bad person if you aren’t a Hindu in doctrine; that’s what abrahamic religions do. I’m not even sure BJP understand what Hinduism is. fucking idiots.
One of these days I’ll have the energy to give a full essay on how Avatar the last Airbender takes its philosophy and inspiration from Indian, specifically Hindu culture, and yet has ripped it from us and only gives us two Indian/South Asian coded characters, one who was a gooky wise mentor who drank banana onion juice and was shown with multiple arms and only existed so the protagonist could learn about his chakras - another Hindu concept - and one who was pictured as evil for using armed resistance against violent imperialists, mirroring how the Indian independence movement has been watered down to Ghandi’s peaceful protests are erasing the decades of blood and struggle, and was then shown to be a mean player who had to die to be ‘redeemed’, and then assigned all parts of our culture to East Asian-based places and gave us no representation.
But until then remember this when you praise avatar for it’s representation.
some day i'm going to write an essay about how padme naberrie is the most hindu character in all of star wars in terms of aesthetic and culture, and i will lament on how george lucas did absolutely nothing with hinduism and hindu moralities just so he could have his tragic love lamp.
the jedi are very funny to me. they are space hindus who strongly believe in the christian concept of evil.
this is strictly between christian denominations ex. anglican and catholic
reblog with your answer and your religion
everytime i have to read about how 'bryke totally was sooo good at buddhism and hinduism and eastern philosophy guys' i think about how they named the pet bison of the main character Appa, which is the Tamil or-depending on how you transliterate it-Korean word for father while pronouncing the word incorrectly as 'Aapa' which is an Urdu term for older sister.
Kali, Xenophobia, and Hinduism

Here’s a paragraph from what I wrote:
Kali is a very popular deity in the Hindu pantheon. She is the goddess of time, paradoxes, and destruction. Kali attracts many people worldwide due to her fascinating iconography (via statues, paintings, tapestries, and drawings). However, since she is my own maternal deity, I have noticed some pretty interesting trends. Many men who approach Kali often say things like she is “terrifying” and other “heavy” language choices that imply she is absolutely unapproachable to men and/or those who are new to learning about her in general. Women, on the other hand, are fascinated and have a powerful yearning to learn about her with little to no fear.
