So overall next week>>
Finished Maurice yesterday, wonderful movie, highly recommend. Though fair warning, there are a couple conversion "therapy" scenes that were pretty heavy, but on the bright side it does have a good ending.
Started reading Maurice and can't finish it yet because I'm currently not home so naturally it's time to watch the movie

THIS IS SO IMPORTANT
WE NEEED MORE SOFT QUEER LOVE STORIES ๐ญ
"Basically about my experience being aromantic and asexual. Like, being in a world where romance and sex are prized above everything when you don't feel those forms of attraction. Growing up feeling that something about you is different, but you don't have the words to describe what that is. But then, freedom. The euphoria of freeing yourself from those pressures and expectations."
That person describes exactly how it feels to not be a part of the allo world we live in and it's so important that this is said in a show like Heartstopper which is famous because it portrays queer joy. Having this type of representation is so important, it's shown in a beautiful way and that whole scene gives a big sense of community and comfort.
The way Isaac has his "heartstopper moment" with the green and purple leaves is also SO important. How the other characters have this type of animation when they're with their partner because they're in love, while Isaac has them because he's found out who he really is, and how those leaves instead of being there because of romantic love, are there because Isaac's "heartstopper moment" is about self love
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA ITS NICK! /pos
Kit Connor as Nick Nelson Heartstopper, Season 2 Episode 3
Nick Nelson yelling "YOU'RE MY BOYFRIEND! I'M YOU'RE BOYFRIEND! WE'RE BOYFRIENDS!" with such joy while carrying Charlie Spring in his arms on a beach is exactly how i want young gay love to be portrayed. slay Alice Oseman fr
I WANTED TO SEE MORE OF ISAAC AND TORI PLS
after one minute of knowing michael i already wanted to protect him, heโs so cute ๐ญ
i hope that in the future will talk more about tori and michael ๐๐ป๐๐ป
One interesting thing I have noticed in Heartstopper: (tw- eating disorder and spoilers)
if you pay attention to the trailer on Netflix, and the part where Tori calls Ben a knob, you'll notice Charlie has a bowl of cereal in his hands. We only see him stir it with a spoon a few times. He's not eating it. He's also looking down at it anxiously and hesitantly. This could be foreshadowing for the mentions of his eating disorder, which is shown. Every time Charlie has food in front of him, he's not really eating well. Examples include the beef dish in Paris (Nick notices this).
Idk if this has been shared before but i observed it so I just thought I'd put it out there!
And now Iโm crying again
Nick: we keep escaping parties to hang out with each other
Charlie: are we going to do it every time?
Nick: i hope so
he is so iconic
ISAAC HENDERSON in HEARTSTOPPER โณ for the lovely @malyen0retsev
i would die for him he's everything
Joe Locke Appreciation
Listen I know Kit absolutely BODIED Nick Nelson but Joe Locke also absolutely killed it.
Like his nervous giggles? His chemistry with the entire friendship group? Every interaction with Tori? And heโs already portraying Charlieโs mental illness so well and subtly. That boy is killin it.
Why are the closed captions of the Heartstopper show in American English, when the setting of Heartstopper is British...and.... all of the actors are British???
I understand Netflix is an American company, and that means they'll do captioning in the local dialect buttttt but wouldn't it make more sense to have the British show, with British actors, and a British setting...to have it's closed captions in...the language the original was written in?
fuck romeo and juliet. i want whatever these bitches have.
