Here’s a reminder to the demiromantics: your identity is real, you’re valid and you’re just as aro as every other Aromantic person. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.

It just feels weird having two labels end in “-sexual” yk? Idk

Speaking as a gendervast termcollector? I can confirm that it feels weird to identify with labels that feel contradictory.

But if bisexual and greysexual feel right (even if it does feel weird that they both end in -sexual) by all means use em. But here's the thing: just because your ace-spec label makes it feel like it's contradicting your bisexual identity, does not mean they have to be contradicting. Because you, AND ONLY YOU, get to define who you are and how you experience attraction.

Long story short: if the shoe fits, wear it. (Or, I guess in this case: if the label fits, use it. Or something like that.)

I like the term partner because it is gender neutral, which is not only good for non binary people but also for closeted people who are in queer relationships and it is a more inclusive term

Yes, I do. I make bookmarks, and I also drew the bisexual flag on a pair of shoes

Anne Shirley - Green Gables series and adaptations - Demiromantic

I love Anne a lot and related to her a lot growing up. I hc her as demiromantic partially because it takes her so long to recognize that her feelings for Gilbert have turned romantic. There are also a few other things:

She idealizes what she thinks she wants in a romantic partner based on the books she grew up reading

When she finally does have this, she has to come to the realization that she's not actually attracted to men like that and that her romantic feelings are inclined in a different way than she had expected

When all her friends are starting to fall in love with people around them (and not just crushing or romanticizing), she is still figuring out her feelings and how they differ from those around her

Also, Project Green Gables made their version of Anne demiromantic, which is amazing, so go check that out if you're an Anne fan and haven't yet

I've been skimming the ace tag to report bots, since I'm recovering from COVID and needed to Feel Productive and... man. It's really heartbreaking the amount of negativity I'm reading from some ace folks absolutely convinced that they'll never have successful and happy relationships of any variety and. Like.

This aging (42) ace (bi/demiromantic 95% asexual, if you need to me establish my credentials) just wants the younger aces to know that MY LIFE AND RELATIONSHIPS TURNED OUT PRETTY GREAT, ACTUALLY. I have a spouse and co-parent who accepts and loves the entire messy package of me, including my copious quantities of mental illness and my ridiculous number of queer letters. I have queer friends that may or may not be QPRs. I'm pretty indifferent the idea of labeling it, I just know that our relationship goes far beyond "just" friendship - they are family. And I'm in a place where I'm able to be as open about my ace identities as I am about the rest of my queerness. Don't fall into the trap of delegitimizing your aceness the way you've been taught! "Partners" don't have to be ROMANTIC to matter. And there are people out there ready and eager to love you for exactly who you are, aceness included.

       Hey, another fanart of the best Dinosaur King ship! Yay!

Everything turned out pretty fine here and I gotta say that I'm thankful to our DK goddess Helga that Reese has a hand fan with this outfit, which made drawing this much easier. Also, I've almost made a continuity mistake because I've accidentally drawn Reese with her old glasses; thankfully I've noticed that. And yes, that's one of the LGBT+ flags in the background, find out for yourself what it means.

       Oh, Jeremy, my boy, he's so small, even though he's a little bend over. I must admit that this is my best drawing of Ursula yet; I even nailed the hair! Oh, if 4Kids saw this they'd censor it (*cough*the chest*cough*). Drawing these, I've realized that the pirate outfits are my most favorite from the whole Dinosaur King. Yes, those are LGBT+ flags in the background, deal with it.

       I've used Dinosaur King's second Japanese opening as a base for this one. I've tried my best to make them appear as old as they should be in Chains of Love (Laura - 16; Rod - 22), but hey still looking good.

       Ed is the most underrated Dinosaur King character; he deserves more love! He's just so adorable and happy during the Caribbean arc. Oh, I screwed Ellie up so much; I still have a problem with chubby figures.
