im sorry but the “good girl, bad boy” trope remains superior and you cannot convince me otherwise.
Aaron Warner this, Aaron Warner that— how about you Aaron Warn me before I accidentally stay up till 4 am reading.
“who hurt you?”
crooked kingdom bro.
:(
writing a book is fun until you have to ACTUALLY sit down and write instead of just staring at a blank wall all day and daydreaming about your characters
rivals to lovers but they ONLY refer to each other using last names >>>>
might fuck around and reread my comfort series for the 86th time but idk
the trope where the mortal dies in their immortal lover's arms is a different kind of painful— i love it.
james “and ill be in denial for at least a little while, what about the plans we made?” potter
not right now babe im busy thinking about how ill die before learning all the languages i want to learn and reading all the books i want to read and consuming all the media i want to consume and going all the places i want to go and meeting all the people i want to meet and loving all the things i want and am meant to love, but maybe that forces me to enjoy the fleeting time i have left in a manner that would've been otherwise impossible had i had all the time in the world to get my fill of knowledge, love and everything in between
not rn babe im busy spiralling because of the new piece of information i found out about one of my old hyperfixations

“You said it yourself, Neji.” Her voice was gentle, resigned. It held none of that anger he’d expected—hoped for. She released a short, humourless laugh, her voice lowering into a gentle whisper, as if pointing out an unmistakable truth, “We can’t be friends.” “Tenten.” His voice was pained. Desperate. Imploring. Her face softened, if infinitesimally, and those beautiful brown eyes gazed into his with so much ill-concealed longing he was ready to get on his knees and beg. Beg for her forgiveness. Plead with her to give them another chance. To forget he ever said those senseless words. He was ready to get on his knees and repent ceaselessly like he were a wicked sinner and she his altar. Her brows pulled into a soft frown, and she faintly shook her head. “I'm too much for you,” she said in a broken whisper, almost desperately. He didn't know who she was trying to convince of this—himself or her. “I don't” —she looked away, swallowed— “I don't regret you, Neji. And I can only hope you think back fondly on what we had, because—” Her voice wavered, broke, and she took a shuddering breath to compose herself, her eyes going skyward to stop the tears collecting on her waterline from flowing.

Books like Dorian Gray?
I am looking for good Horror/ Mystery Literature like the Picture of Dorian Gray, Frankenstein or the stories by Edgar Allan Poe. Do you guys have any recommendations for me? Am not as familiar with that genre as i would like to be.
Book recommendations based on your favourite authors
1. Oscar Wilde
Edward St Aubyn - Patrick Melrose
If you love Oscar Wilde i would recommend St. Aubyn's amazing novels. They are full of wit, cunning irony, upper - class critisicm and dry humor.
2. William Shakespeare
Margaret Atwood - Hagseed
Part of the "Hogarth Shakespeare Series" this is a brillant retelling of Shakespeares play the tempest.
3. Lewis Carroll
Michael Ende - Momo
Similar to Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland, Ende takes us on a young girl's magical journey in which she has to bring back the "stolen time".
4. Stephen King
David Mitchell - Slade House
Stephen King himself recommended this suspensful novel about an abnormal house: “Hard to imagine a more finely wrought and chilling tale of the supernatural. One of the rare great ones.”
5. Suzanne Collins
Koushun Takami - Battle Royale
This book has a very similar storyline to Collins great Hunger Games Saga: a class of junior high school students is taken to a deserted island where they are provided arms and forced to kill one another until only one survivor is left standing.
6. Jane Austen
Goethe - Elective Affinities
A love story just as sharming and complicated as Jane Austen's beloved works: Eduard and his wife Charlotte enjoy a quiet but idle life in their estate, when their piece is fastly thrown into chaos as he invites his friend the Captain and she invites her niece Ottilie to stay with them: a story of forbidden love begins to grow as they both form attraction to their guests.

Five incredible memoirs to add to your tbr
These books have thought me more about life and human relationships than anything else, they are of universal importance.
- Trigger Warning (Themes of sexual and psychological abuse)
1. Instrumental by James Rhodes
In this thought provoking and eye opening story James Rhodes, now a famous concert pianist, reflects on the sexual abuse he had to endure as a child and how classical music safed him from his severe depression and drug addiction. A must read if you want to understand the harsh reality and consequences of sexual abuse, but also a touching manifestation about the powers and meaning of classical music. "This is a memoir like no other: unapologetically candid, boldly outspoken and surprisingly funny".
2. The last expedition by Robert Scott
"In November 1910, a ship called Terra Nova left New Zealand on its way south to Antarctica. On board was an international team of explorers led by Robert Falcon Scott, a man determined to be the first to reach the South Pole. A year and a half later, Scott and three members of his team died during a brutal blizzard.Even in his final hours, Scott found the strength to continue the journal he'd started at the beginning of his adventures; the diary was found beside his frozen body."
3. The Glass Castle by Jeanette Walls
A heartwrenching memoir about the troubles writer Jeanette Walls had to face growing up with an alcohol-dependent father: "When sober, Jeannette’s brilliant and charismatic father captured his children’s imagination, teaching them physics, geology, and how to embrace life fearlessly. But when he drank, he was dishonest and destructive. Her mother was a free spirit who abhorred the idea of domesticity and didn’t want the responsibility of raising a family." 4. The blinding abscence of light by Tahar Ben Jelloun
This technically isn't a memoir but I included it because it was highly based on real life events: "Ben Jelloun reveals the horrific story of the desert concentration camps in which King Hassan II of Morocco held his political enemies in underground cells with no light and only enough food and water to keep them lingering on the edge of death. He delivers a shocking novel that explores both the limitlessness of inhumanity and the impossible endurance of the human will."
5. In the dream house by Carmen Maria Machado
"In the Dream House is Carmen Maria Machado's engrossing and wildly innovative account of a relationship gone bad. Tracing the full arc of a harrowing experience with a charismatic but volatile woman, this is a bold dissection of the mechanisms and cultural representations of psychological abuse."
Is it possible to actually die from second hand embarrassment? Because I feel like it should be.
Ace of spades by Faridah Abike-Iyimide
Recently finished this Masterpiece. This was a very wild ride. Beautiful writing. A very deep look inside of the characters heads. I felt their pain. I understood their struggles. I read tons of YA mysteries and I didn't realize the lack of POC Characters and authors and how much I needed it until now.

Can I get a part 2? Please and Thank You :)
This book is beyond gorgeous, both with and without the jacket! I had the pleasure of reading an eARC of Isle of the Immortal (by S.M. Estrada) last month, and I absolutely fell in LOVE with the book. It instantly became a favorite and I needed to add it to my library. This book is Fantasy/Romance, with enemies to lovers, vampires and fae, and a whole lot of delicious chemistry. On the spice scale I would probably say a 2.5/5. There are some *chef's kiss* scenes, that add a level of steaminess, but flow so seamlessly with the story. I'm sad that this book was a standalone, because it was so easy to fall in love with the characters and want to know more about their lives. However, I do HIGLY recommend this book, it's 100000% a 5/5 for me, and I think any fans of Sarah J Maas and Jennifer Armentrout will really love this book. Thank you @booksirens and @smestradabooks for my eARC, and @smestradabooks for the little gifts ❤️ #booksirens #isleoftheimmortal #fantasybook #fantasybooks #fantasybookshelf #fantasyromance #vampire #fae #bookstagram #fantasybookstagram #bookaddict #bookaholic #bookaesthetic https://www.instagram.com/p/CdmF70iuIcc/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
