draken hates the pregnancy pillow.
he hates it with a passion that burns throughout depths so deep, he’s unsure how he’s put up with it for so long. and by so long, it’s really only been a few days, but your bed doesn’t really allow much room for him with the giant pillow, therefore he’s stuck in the guest room.
and he hates it. he wants to hold you in his arms and feel your warmth, he wants to kiss your lips goodnight as your eyes close slowly, he wants to rub your belly and feel your baby kick, and he wants to fall asleep to your hushed voice as you murmur little secrets to him—but mostly, he really just wants to be there, just so he can make sure himself that you’re okay.
because that’s his job, and this is his family. his. he’s never had one—not like this anyway. it’s the homely kind where he gets to come to a house and listen to sock-clad feet run to him, the kind where saturdays are reserved for movies and dinners and evening strolls in the park. he’s always wanted one, and he’s so, so close to making it a reality. but the tiniest part of his brain in the far back corner whispers that it’s all too good to be true.
and he wants nothing more than for it to be true, and he wants to be there to watch over you so he can make sure of it, but the damned pillow coming in the way makes that a tad bit difficult.
“goodnight, kenny,” you murmur, settling into bed against the large cushion. “see you in the morning.” draken fights the urge to toss it out the window, lips curling into a tiny pout as he eyes the cramped bit of free space beside you.
“ah...i think...i think i’ll stay in here tonight,” he mumbles. “it’s cold in that room.” frowning, you tilt your head in confusion.
“cold? isn’t that room usually warmer than—”
“well, i hate it in there,” he blurts. and he almost kicks himself, instantly regretting the words when he sees the look on your face. you’re too good for this world, too good for him, too good to be staring at him with guilt in your eyes.
“do you want me to get rid of the pillow?” you ask quietly, and to his dismay, he hears you sniffle. panic sets in.
“n-no! baby, of course not. if it helps you sleep better, that’s all i care about. you’re carrying my baby, after all. don’t...don’t worry your pretty little head over—”
“why didn’t you tell me? now i feel awful,” you say with teary eyes. his own eyes widen, and he stares at you, unsure of how to fix what he’s started. your lips wobble slightly, and his composure cracks a little.
“‘s not on you, babe, i—”
“i’m...i’m the worst aren’t i?” you pout, voice cracking as you stare at him sadly, “just so selfish. you can’t sleep in our bed cause of me.” and he knows this isn’t really you speaking, he knows your emotions are a bit out of tune right now, but he can’t help but take even the smallest of your woes seriously.
“no,” he sighs. “no, of course not. you’re the best,” he says gently, sitting beside you and cupping your face with his large hand, rubbing over your cheek with his thumb. “you’re an angel. carrying our baby, lookin’ all pretty, still taking care of me when you should be relaxing” he murmurs. “you’re perfect.”
“best you ever had?” you sniffle hopefully. he chuckles, nodding.
“best of the best.”
“so that means you’ve had plenty before me, huh?” you raise a brow, and he sighs, preparing himself to stay calm as your mood shifts. but he thinks he likes you this way, pregnant and vulnerable and sometimes a little grouchy—because you’re pregnant and vulnerable and sometimes a little grouchy and his.
“i knew that i wanted to see you round and pregnant with my child the moment i laid eyes on you,” he nods with faux seriousness, “never felt that with anyone else.” you giggle, rolling your eyes, and even though he chuckles, he sags slightly in relief.
“that’s perverted ken,” you snort.
“no, it’s dedicated,” he grins. and his hand lays gently over your bump, robbing soft circles over it as he stares down admiringly.
draken’s never been soft. he’s rough around the edges, and sometimes he says things rather tersely, but he’s love. in its rawest form, he is love. it’s his nature to care, and the annoying texts he sends constantly to check if you’ve drunk enough water, and the stupid way his hand hovers over corners of tables when you approach even if you’re a few feet away, and the way he sleeps in the hellish empty little guest room just so you can be comfortable are all ways he proves that through and through, draken is love.
he’s your love, and he loves you.
“would you like to spend the night in here? with me?” you ask.
“i think you mean us,” he corrects. “my little man is here too,” he leans down, pressing a delicate kiss to your belly.
“it could be your little girl,” you point out with a roll of your eyes. “but fine, would you like to join us in bed tonight?”
“what about your pillow? ya don’t need it?” he asks hesitantly. you shake your head, smiling gently as you sit up and set it down on the floor.
“not if you hold me,” you murmur.
“well, if you insist,” he hums happily, instantly crawling into bed beside you, “could never deny you.” you roll your eyes, chuckling quietly, and he chuckles too. and soon, you’re both laughing in synch—happy and together and ready for the grueling realities of parenthood. he holds you in his arms, kisses your lips, and rubs a hand over your belly to feel your baby kick, ready to fall asleep to your hushed voice as you murmur little secrets to him—just like he’s been wanting to. “and by the way, i’m definitely having a little man.”
a/n: i am two hours late to submitting BUT technically this is my second submission, and my first was the first in the whole collab

ran watches with a ghost of a smile on his face as you eat lunch, happily rambling about your day so far. he’s about to take a bite from his own meal when you call his name gently.
he likes the way his name falls from your pretty lips, rolling past your tongue in a manner he thinks was made specifically for his name alone.
and he wants to hear it for the rest of eternity, and the eternity beyond that.
“ran, is your brother…by any chance free tonight,” you mumble quietly. he snorts, raising a brow up.
“what do you need with rindou?” huffing, you glare at him, crossing your arms as you shrug. it doesn’t take a genius to know that there’s heat flared to your cheeks.
“why do you need to know? i just need to talk to him, is all.” he doesn’t like the way a surge of jealousy waves over him, consuming every crevice of his body, but ran doesn’t let it show. instead, he offers you a playful grin as he narrows his eyes at you.
“why’s that? gonna tell him you’re in love with him or something?” he doesn’t expect the way you basically give yourself whiplash with how fast you look away, nervously wringing your hands as you avoid his eyes.
he shouldn’t have asked, he thinks. maybe he wouldn’t have to deal with the feeling of his plummeting heart.
“maybe,” you grumble. he stares at you for a moment, trying to figure you out. “okay fine, yes. now answer the question.”
for a moment, there’s a hot, white, searing pain in his chest, right where his heart is. and ran has to fist his pants to keep himself composed, swallowing harshly before pulling himself together.
“yeah,” he clears his throat, throwing you a lazy smirk—it’s tight and forced. “yeah, he’s free tonight.” a bright grin erupts across your face, and you nod excitedly.
“okay, great. i’ll tell him. you think he’ll say yes?” the nervousness in your voice makes him bitter. bitter at the world, at you, at his brother—but mostly himself. why couldn’t he be enough to catch your eye? what had you seen in his younger brother of all people?
and ran knows his brother will say yes, even if rindou’s never mentioned anything about you to him, he can see the same subtle hints of softness in rindou that he himself reserves for you too. he’s always held onto the hope that you’d be his in the end.
but, if it means you and rindou are happy, he thinks he can bear the feeling of his soul crumbling.
“‘m sure he will,” he looks off ahead, past your shoulder and into the distance. he couldn’t meet your eyes if he tried. “he’s an asshole, not an idiot.”
your soft chuckle rings through his ears, making his head spin as you murmur, “i hope so. thanks, ran. i’ll tell him tonight then.”
his heart finally sinks to the bottom at your words.

Music blaring from the rented out bowling alley, where the slips of shoes tapped along the polished floor. Mikey specifically stated to the workers that the place would be in top shape; freshly mopped much for his childish members to enjoy the little bits of life where—for once—no speck of blood would shatter across the walls. Rather so, the only hints of crimson would be the sweetly wrapped mistletoes and red ribbons decorating the entire windows.
“Sanzu, watch it,” Kokonoi quipped, gripping on the orange bowling ball. “Act like a fucking maniac and you just might slip on your bowling shoes, somehow.”
Mikey tied his shoes, taiyaki deep within his mouth. “Cahn yew pwease naht?”
Ran chuckled, murmuring into his drink. “Repeat that, boss.”
Shaking his head, platinum hair shining beneath the yellow hues, Mikey took out his treat before sighing. “Kokonoi rented out the place to have a good time. Don’t fuck this up. Just have fun.”
Sanzu cried out a laugh, placing a palm on his forehead. “Miiikey, are you saying the way we kill the rats in our organization is not fun? I tend to have a pleasant time.”
“Oi,” Kakucho called out. “Sanzu, would you please roll the ball? S’been your turn for quite some time.”
Rindou watched the events played out—where Sanzu laughed in a manically manner when his ball ended up in the gutter, Ran eyeing his every movements only to cause the younger brother to fidget, and Kokonoi being the stubborn ass he was to keep his dangling jewelry on despite the possibility of them flying off. Such moments were rare; he believed he should’ve paid more attention to the current present, though his eyes trailed along the tinges of gold ribbons wrapped around the arm rest.
His exhausted eyes were fading into nothing but the shimmer, only to have him trail back to the memories of where you’d talk about the most shocking topic to his ears: a baby.
Let alone, you discussed different pacifiers and clothes for a baby to wear, not showing a care to his shocked state at the time. (With the empty milk carton in his hand, and the filled-up cereal in his bowl, he only stared at you in awe before you bid your farewell to the shared bedroom.)
A deer in the headlights, he was. And Rindou desperately eyed your phone contact, debating if he should’ve cried out how crazy the idea of a baby talk was. Nonetheless, his heart pounded uncontrollably; as if the screams of the traitors in Bonten weren’t meant to frighten his spirit, but—a baby? Rindou felt his knees quiver at the thought.
“Something’s wrong,” Mikey perked up, causing Rindou’s eyes to widen. “You don’t wanna play.”
“Huh?” Rindou’s eyes rolled. “M’not in the mood.”
“I asked to rent out the whole bowling alley for all of us,” Mikey said, wiping his lips covered in crumbs. “At least get a drink or something.”
“Not feeling it.”
“Dearest brother,” Rindou groaned underneath his breath at Ran’s voice, where the older sibling threw his palms on the younger one’s shoulders, causing Rindou to duck his head further into his lap. “Trouble in paradise with dearest Y/N, I have a hunch, yeah?”
“What’d you do now?” Mikey murmured, eyes squinting at the scoreboard above them.
Rindou looked up after shooting a glare at Ran, raising a brow. Sanzu was ahead of them all. ‘How the fuck?’ he thought.
“I didn’t do anything,” Rindou argued, rubbing his nose. “Quit thinkin’ I always do something wrong in my relationship.”
“Okay, then what’s wrong?” Mikey asked, rolling his head back.
“Nothing.”
“Smell that?” Ran grinned cheekily, tapping Rindou’s nose before he jumped away from the younger brother’s slap. “I smell bullshit. You got everyone here cornered in your thoughts. You have no choice but to spill, lil’ bro.”
“We aren’t thirteen anymore, you fuck.”
Mikey blinked. “Ran still called you that when you were—”
“Can everyone, like, shut the hell up and leave me alone?” Rindou quipped, standing up before grabbing onto the sky blue bowling ball Sanzu cheerfully handed to him. Kokonoi watched in amusement, sitting next to Kakucho, who they both sent displeased looks at the scoreboard of Sanzu—miraculously—beating everyone with him in the lead.
Rindou’s hands shook, where he stared at the ball in his hand and his mind wandered to an uncomfortable paradise of seeing you in front of him, going on about buying new clothes for a newborn and toys for a child to play with. ‘Fucking hell,’ he swore mentally, shaking his head. His life wasn’t suited for a child—no way. As if Rindou was prepared to hold the responsibility of a younger one with his criminal occupation, yet. It could work—perhaps, sure. Maybe. ‘Shit, shit, shit—’
“Rin, you going or what, man?” Kakucho asked, raising his brows.
“M’going, damn,” Rindou’s lips perked in annoyance. “You guys are impatient today, huh?”
“How about you just say what’s on your mind for once?” Kokonoi chuckled, resting his head against his palm.
Rindou turned around, scrunching his nose, eyeing a very witty Ran beneath the bowling chairs, who sucked on his straw like the innocent bastard he was. Closing his eyes, Rindou looked down, clutching onto the bowling ball.
“Baby.”
The members gawked at him in uncertainty. “Come again?” Sanzu stared at him, lips parted.
Rindou growled underneath his breath. “Y/N… wants a baby.”
Dead silence. The room was sucked into an infinite void of nothing but pitter-patter of the workers staying away from them in the background. And at one point, like that, Sanzu let out a boisterous laugh; a man indulging himself in nothing but fine entertainment right on the tip of his nose. And Ran chucked a palm to his mouth, clearly standing up with delicate amusement twinkling his eyes.
“No fucking way,” Kokonoi laughed, slapping a palm to his knee. “You gon’ knock her up?”
“Shut it,” Rindou gritted his teeth.
“M’gonna be the best uncle for you, lil’ bro, just wait,” Ran declared, reaching for his box of cigarettes in his back pocket. “Gonna spoil your little brat with toys and shit.”
“I’ll make that future kid of yours watch what I do,” Sanzu grinned, turning away to walk to Ran so he could steal a cigarette. “Gotta keep ‘em entertained.”
“You’re serious?” Mikey blinked, eyes digging deep into Rindou’s hollow stare.
“You guys won’t shut it, huh?” Rindou sighed deeply, debating on throwing the bowling ball to the ceiling in the urge of releasing his frustration. “Conversation’s done.”
“Oh,” Sanzu pouted. “Can’t end it there, pretty boy.”
Ran snickered in mirth. “He’s right, Rin. Can’t spill news like that and expect us not to say some shit about it.”
“Did she like—tell you or something?” Kakucho asked, tilting his head.
Rindou bit his bottom lip. “No, she hinted at it.”
“How so?”
“Out of nowhere, at like fucking three AM last night, she talked about buying baby clothes and all these toys,” Rindou groaned, furrowing his eyebrows. “I was too shocked to say anything. And then she just went to bed without saying another word.”
Mikey raised a brow. “You didn’t talk about it to her this morning?”
Rindou shook his head. “No, boss. Couldn’t. Said she needed to run to the baby store to look at some stuff since apparently some bibs were on sale.”
“So, why are you so worked up?”
“Why?” Rindou retorted, careful to watch his tone with his boss. “M’not suited enough for the baby shit. It’s too dangerous for a child.”
“Okay,” Mikey said, dangling his feet on the chair. “But Y/N wants a baby. Do you?”
“I mean... I’m not opposed to it.”
“I see, ‘kay,” Kokonoi snorted, fighting back an eye roll. “Why’re you bitchin’ about it then?”
“I am not,” Rindou snapped, furrowing his eyebrows before shaking his head. “Do you see the shit we do? Ran tried to kiss me with blood all over his face after the last guy we took out—do you really think a child is suited for my job?”
Kakucho grunted, biting into his cigarette before shaking his head—mind wandering into no damns given throughout his tousled brain. “Y/N loves you, even through everything you’ve done and she knows what you do.”
Ran snickered, twirling his tongue around the straw before throwing his head back. “Everyone knows you’d give Y/N the entire world.”
Mikey sighed while eyeing the scoreboard. “Just talk to her.”
Rindou nodded. Truly, he knew he was a man capable of his words. Wanting to sacrifice everything even if it meant for the smallest bits of your happiness to crack through the peeps of his eyes. At least, a meaningful conversation about his future child wouldn’t hurt, much from what he anticipated.
The clank of bowling pins clattered from a distance, where Rindou’s eyes widened in discomfort once Sanzu hit another careless strike, and he clapped his hands merrily in front of the others.
Jaw-dropped, Kokonoi scoffed. “You serious, Sanzu? It was Rin’s turn.”
Sanzu grinned; scars prominent on each end of his lips. “It’s a turkey.”
“A what?”
“We are bowling, you dumb fuck. Do you not know what a turkey is?”
Rindou blocked the meaningless conversation out of his head, where he dragged his feet across the polished floor, and he nearly fell into the bench. Ran clicked close to his side, chuckling while Rindou quivered from his older brother’s nose pokes.
“You gonna tell her, right, baby bro?”
Rindou scoffed, waving Ran’s hand away. “Please. Can you not?” He quipped, rubbing his eyes, only hoping that an undesirable headache wasn’t peeking in. “M’gonna talk to her tonight or tomorrow. As soon as possible, at least.”
Kokonoi whistled, snapping his fingers. “Good,” he said, lips soon pursing into a greedy grin. “‘Cause I’ll spoil the shit out of your kid, Rin. M’gon’ be the best damn uncle!”
Sanzu laughed—the heavy patter of bowling pins falling to the floor echoed once more. “Ha! I’ll have another fucking turkey soon!”
“Enough with your gobble, gobble shit!”
Rindou attempted to keep his thoughts in a gentle ease; a wave slowly dragging itself to the shore. Though, at night, and throughout the Bonten meetings, his legs shook at the thought of having a child with you. Such a big commitment, only to have his heart jump in nothing but excitement and adrenaline highs of picturing a perfect family with you.
Although, he couldn’t keep his anxiety tucked away easily. Alas, a wave was bound to get stronger, heavier—and bigger.
Metal bowl doused with ingredients, such as green onions and carrots. Rindou stared down at his hands, covered with sesame oil and vegetables—and the brief humming of your voice fading out into the background. Dumplings. At least, you wanted to eat some for the night, and Rindou figured he’d offer to help prepare them before steaming them to a perfect pitch, only to settle into the mood of the big talk.
‘A baby… with me?’ He thought, eyes wandering into the feverish green in the bowl. At one point, the sweetness of your voice mellowed down to a foggy haze. Rindou kept his thoughts lost—especially on the topic, mostly because was he ready? A man old enough around his age was capable of much more, let alone, a child. But with his occupation, and Ran’s asshole schenagians—was a baby possible in his life?
“Rin?”
Your voice broke him out of his thoughts, and he gulped. An innocent smile appeared on his lips, where you pecked him once before trailing back to the sink.
“Hey, baby, I—uh,” Rindou spoke, looking back before darting his eyes into the bowl.
“Yeah?” You called out from behind; water splashing in the background.
“Um, ‘was gonna talk to you about something.”
“Oh?” You responded. “Did I do something wrong?”
“Not at all, angel—uh,” Rindou bit his bottom lip to prevent it from quivering. “S’gonna sound kinda weird and out of nowhere.”
His eyes widened when his lap started to feel moist from your hands drizzled in bits of water, and Rindou gazed down at the vegetables mixed around his fingers, only to have you chuckle against his back. Citrus scent easing into your voice; a tone so seraphic only meant for him to bear witness on the most casual domestic days.
“You can always talk to me, Rin,” he felt your lips curve into a smile as you giggled from behind. He mentally thanked himself for keeping his hair at a longer length—only to have you not catch a glimpse of the redness itching his skin. “I love you, and I will always want to talk everything out with you.”
‘So fucking kind, I don’t deserve you.’
“Ah, so um,” Rindou gulped. “You went out to buy bibs the other day, right? How’d that go?”
“Well, I got some toys and bibs,” you said casually, he felt your shoulders shake. “Kind of went with what I think would’ve been best for me, you know?”
‘For… you?’
Rindou’s teeth gritted; the truth had already been dropped from that subtle hint. So, he cleared his throat, while fighting back a lip bite. “Think of any baby names?” He asked, tilting his head.
“Well, no… not really?”
Your tone sounded off to him, almost as if the conversation was too dumb to even fall into play. No matter. And Rindou sighed deeply, closing his eyes. “Let’s go out on a date this weekend.”
Your grip around his waist loosened. “That’s random. What’s the occasion?”
“What?” He snickered. “Can’t I take my beautiful and charming woman out on a date? Especially since the streets are covered with Christmas lights now. Might as well take a walk and go shopping.”
You giggled loudly, keeping Rindou’s heart blessed with nothing but laughs filled with purity.
“Well, I won’t refuse that offer!”
Ran always spoke to Rindou about opening up his emotions, where Rindou had grown more comfortable in doing so knowing that he found you to be his perfect match. The one that was frolicking along the fields in his heart—also the one that always took care of his wounds every time he came home like a soldier surviving a battle. Never did he picture having a family with you right away, even before he could fiddle a ring around your finger.
As time eased on, Rindou found himself looking at more articles about becoming a father and different sales at the nearest stores about baby items. The idea slowly grew into his head—nothing but his future child and you, soon to be his wife, could ever keep him separated from this world. ‘My own family,’ he’d think, where Ran cheered on about becoming an uncle right at the tip of his nose.
Throughout the streets, Rindou purposefully took you to the nearest stores, only to have you glance at nothing but decorated Christmas trees and fake presents laid out for the purpose of ornamented interior. He’d drag you along the baby aisles, casually whistling at the colored t-shirts.
(He really enjoyed the “daddy’s favorite” shirt, but he didn’t say anything about it.)
“Come with me, love,” Rindou chuckled, grabbing your hand before you could protest his weird outbursts of baby fever. Both of you walked further into the streets; Christmas carols echoing through the outside speakers along with the flickering lights of sweet yellows from up above. The snow trickled down; Rindou felt more at ease each second that passed by.
Childishly, he ran up the stairs before grabbing ahold of your waist to pull you up. Your laughter rang his ears, only to have him blur out you calling out his name in his mind. Rindou became distracted, watching the gigantic Christmas tree that stood in the middle of the empty park—what was once green on the ground now dusted to a white blanket.
“Oh, wow,” you smiled, looking up. “It’s so beautiful…”
“Just like you,” he smiled, placing his hands on your ears. “You’re cold.”
“Oh, really? Didn’t think I was.”
“Such sass, damn,” Rindou chuckled, keeping his hands tucked on your ears. “Don’t worry, love. I’ll keep you warm.”
“Ah,” your eyes rolled. “My Prince Charming.”
“Damn right.”
Rindou took note of your happiness, always debating on putting his own right before yours first. Not that he wanted a lot for Christmas, with the upcoming holiday blasting the music throughout the streets and the windows were covered with dangling lights of reds and greens. Much more than he realized, with one shared glance at you, Rindou found it in his heart to acknowledge a warmer embrace rather than the bittersweet cold.
You looked up at the Christmas tree, twinkling in the dark underneath the kisses of snow trailing from the navy sky. Quickly, he threw his arms around your waist, ducking his forehead to your shoulder. Not even wanting to kiss for snow—only hoping that he’d keep your presence underneath his own mistletoe at all times, throughout the year; smile beaming in nothing but enchantment.
“Baby,” he murmured, causing you to look at him. Eyes widening in holiday purity. And Rindou smiled, keeping his fingers trailing along your cold cheek—tips of his fingers covering with harsh frost. “Whatever you want this year, I’ll give it to you, ‘kay?”
You grinned, closing your eyes. “It’s okay, I’m just happy you’re with me. That’s all I want for Christmas.”
He blinked, chuckling at your words. Always so divine with the fluidity of your tone—it never failed to catch him at a lovestruck gaze. “You’re sweet, love, but I’m ready,” Rindou gulped, rubbing his hands on your back.
Blinking, your head tilted. “Ready… for?”
He sucked in a breath. “A baby.”
You blinked again, lips parting. Rindou grinned, feeling the high rush of excitement take him by the knees. But then your face faltered into nothing but bliss—rather so, you stared at him blankly, jaw-dropping from the impact of the given bombshell that came out of his words.
“Ah… what?”
Rindou’s eyes enlarged. “A baby. You and me. We’ll have a family togeth—”
“I heard you, but—” your teeth gritted, causing you to nervously chuckle with a hand scratching the back of your neck. “Are you serious?”
“With you, of course. You’d be the best mo—”
“Rindou,” you quipped, gripping his shoulders. “What?!”
This reaction was not what he expected. In hopes of seeing your sweet smile glisten underneath the Christmas lights have vanished into nothing but a face devoid of color and a, rather, prostrated gaze in return to his words.
His eyebrows furrowed. “Wait—did you not want a baby?”
“Wh—no?!” You forced out an awkward laugh. “I never told you I wanted one, did I?”
“No, but—but, hold on,” Rindou held up an index finger, attempting to catch his breath. He nearly tripped underneath the snow building up near his feet. “What was all that baby talk you had before? And looking at all the bibs, pacifi—”
“Oh,” you blinked. “My friend recently announced her pregnancy, so I’ve just been trying to find the best gifts for her when everything’s on sale right now.”
Rindou stared at you.
‘You couldn’t… have said that to begin with…?’
“Wait… so you don’t…”
“I’m sorry,” you laughed, slapping your forehead shamefully. “I—I should’ve told you that. I must’ve gotten you freaked out and all that, huh?”
Rindou rubbed his eyes, keeping his head down. “No, it’s just—I was kind of looking forward to having a—a baby, yeah?”
Your lips tightened. “Rin, we’re not even married yet.”
“I know, but I thought you—” Rindou stopped himself before shaking his head, slowly throwing his arms around your neck as he exhaled deeply; hands shaking unsteadily. “I just want to let you know that I want a family with you.”
Slowly, your arms wrapped around his body cautiously. “Really?”
“Yes, baby,” he grinned, closing his eyes happily. “Doesn’t have to be now, but—I want a family with you eventually.”
You sighed. “I’d be a good mom?”
“The best mom,” Rindou laughed. “Ran’s gon’ be the “best uncle”, he said. Koko too; promised toys and all that. Even Mikey looked happy—told him that he’d get to play with my future kid. Haven’t seen him smile like that in a while.”
With your heart drifting away in bliss, your nose buried itself further into his chest. Rindou took note of your physical reaction, only to have his arms tighten around you before he threw an arm behind his back, fiddling his fingers into one of his pockets.
“A family, huh?” You chuckled, where Rindou placed his lips on your forehead.
“Only with you, angel, of course,” he responded, eyes fluttering to a close; sweet nothings flowing out from his lips. “Gonna have to marry you soon, then.”
“Ah,” you smiled. “I wonder when that will be.”
It was all a good feeling, especially for Rindou. The cheerful antics of his future visits to Ran’s house with his child holding his hand by his side, along with Rindou’s giddy smile whenever he’d share a glance with his baby. And the time of year couldn’t have been more endearing, though the news had been misunderstood, at least he recognized his worth for a short while.
Rindou grinned happily, letting out a laugh before dipping his forehead into your shoulder.
With happiness bound to be on the way, at least you remained to be close to his side.
Only to keep his excitement on edge—with a bliss of silver shuffling around his fingers.
“Very soon, my love.”
