I feel like bridgerton tries hard to be "diverse" but still rides the wave of villainous black female characters. If not them being a lowkey bitch, then they're going through some immense struggle.
A year-long friendship isn't that long in the grand scheme of things. Especially considering Amberlynn never even met Alexis in person. Maybe if Amberlynn would stop trauma dumping to people the second they message her, she would stop getting into these situations.
Not to be hateful, but genuinely imagine the amount of alcohol that it would take for a 500 pound person to feel the effects. Amber always claims she's only had one or two drinks, but let's be real...
I don't know why Amberlynn thinks it's quirky and cute to drink all the time. Knowing her addictive personality, she needs to beware. Besides that, who would want to go on a livestream when they aren't fully coherent?
Mental health doesn't excuse poor behavior. I just have to say it. Amberlynn has been on YouTube for years and has shown the same awful behavior. She loves choice words like "bpd, disassociate, abandonment issues, ect.). When does it get to the point that those aren't valid excuses anymore?
She jumps at the opportunity to play the victim but will never get any real help. If she does have all the problems she claims to have, then the reasonable thing to do would be to go to therapy. She even admits that she'll bounce on and off her medication. How can I feel sympathy for someone who is perfectly fine being "bad?" At the ripe age of 34, you HAVE to stop blaming your actions on things that happened in your childhood. Some of which things people don't even believe, as terrible as it is to say. Why? Well, all she does is lie and contradict herself.
There's got to be a time when you wonder, are all the side characters the problem? The common denomator is Amberlynn. It's tiring to hear her victimize herself. So what, you got "trolled" by people online. So-called haters have been telling her she needs to stop trusting random people online. She has internet haters, sure, but not without reason. If her mental health is so bad off then my advice would be to do what you always threaten to do and leave YouTube.
She wants to pretend that she's so independent and capable now. Then be my guest Amberlynn and try to get a job. Just wait for reality to kick in.
Amber is privileged in so many ways. The fact that she can put in the bare minimum and make an income and be able to afford therapy but refuse it. The fact that there are others in her position that need ozempic to lose weight, but she can so easily brush it off and pretend it's miraculously not working. The fact that her mother can drive her around when others don't have anyone and are forced to learn or walk. The fact that strangers on the internet can warn her of the potential dangers of a new girlfriend when others have to learn the hard way. But no, Amber has to be the unjust villain. Poor Amberlynn.
Alexis gets on my nerves, but I think that Amberlynn only sees her as a person to trauma dump to. Even when her supposed "friend" is sharing her feelings, the conversation always circles back to Amber. Somehow, Amberlynn is the one crying as usual.
Even if Erica said she was in an "unhappy" marriage, guess what Amberlynn, it's still a MARRIAGE. I've lost my sympathy bone for both parties involved.
(Honesty, this is still a deflection from Tommy. It's lowkey, not even relevant.)
I'm desperate to write that one specific chapter, but then I realize I have to add more for it to make sense. Then, before I know it, I'm 30k words in and get writer's block. How depressing đ
Finally the drama is getting good... but at what cost? Amber, you can't blame your audience for the actions of your girlfriend. People are genuinely concerned about her well-being, but of course, she sees anyone who doesn't swoon a hater.
Why would a polin stan try to follow an obvious anti polin account? For drama? To instigate? ...how odd.
NY and LA are the greasers and socs of the United States.
Who signs a contract and backs out at the last minute because they JUST decided to check if what they're signing up for is allowed? Plus, Amberlynn claims she already signed it. What type of "reputable" company is going to let you back out of something you already signed off on? I'm not even sure if I believe her. She claims that they reached out because of "how well" she was doing on ozempic. However, this is nothing new. Amberlynn loses the same 50 or so pounds and gains it back. She's going to have to do more for me to have any hope. Besides that, what good company would want Amberlynn, the person known for quitting every weight loss solution to be their advocate? She canât even properly advocate for herself, let alone a product.
I need to stop writing out my fanfic lore on paper. It's been a week and I can't find it. Looks like I'll be going into deep writer's block.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that mystreet season 7 isn't slice of life or all happy go lucky. I want to see angst and hurt/comfort. More importantly, even though Aphmau is obviously the main character, I want to see what happens to Travis.
To Love Eve
One of the earliest memories of Bloberta Millie has is them getting in trouble in primary school. Now that theyâve grown nothing has changed. That's how she finds herself being dragged off to a local bar with Bloberta in hand. Only time will tell if her plan ends up in disaster like the many times before.
What are your thoughts about the whole Michael situation? As a person who hasn't read the books, I'm pretty indifferent. However, I don't like how they make it seem like Francesca was completely enamored with Michaela at first sight while she's with John. Like girl, focus on your man, stop making goo goo eyes at other people. I can also see why some people would be upset because from what I hear, her story deals with infertility, so changing the narrative would take away that storyline. But I also genuinely think some people are just using this as an excuse to be homophobic and racist (especially to a darker skinned woman). It begs the question of what you'd consider straying too far away from the source material. Anyway, long story short, I'm pretty on the fence. I just want to see how the "community" feels.
You know you've messed up when even the hardcore stans are upset. People begging and groveling for deleted polin scenes. How is it possible to anger both sides of the fandom lol?
This season is going to be SO spicy, guys. Just you wait! They even broke the furniture đ¤

.
The "broken" furniture in question.
Do we ever find out why Colin was outside anyway? Sure, it's useful to move the plot along, but why was he randomly sneaking around the night before his wedding? That's... suspicious. Penelope asks him, but he just moves past it.
Thoughts on S3 Part 2
(SPOILERS AHEAD)
Even the people of the ton agree that lady Whistledown is cruel. Thereâs no need to pretend that Penelope is doing this for good. People want to paint her as though she was forced to become LW or she had some grand plan. Thereâs nothing wrong with having a âmoral grayâ character, the problem arises when you canât pick a side. Either the writers should have acknowledged that she isnât a saint, or had her be âgoodâ.Â
Penelope canât let Cressida take credit for LW. Sure, I can somewhat see where sheâs coming from. However, is her pride too strong that she canât sit it aside for Colin. This would have been great for her. If she is so concerned with keeping her LW persona, then shout it from the roof tops! Sheâs lucky Eloise hasnât said anything. If she so desperately wants to keep the facade to herself, then girl, tell everyone. All sheâs done in this season is cry, cry, cry. Stop with the tears and do something. Sheâs supposed to be some renaissance woman but whenever the going gets tough she buckles every time.
âWhat about my dreams?â Penelope from the sounds of it, all your dreams were of Colin. What else is her character besides a fake revolutionary and a Colin stan? She also has no right to look at her mother all confused when she hardly talks to her. What is Portia supposed to think? Penelope hasnât shared her ambitions to her before so this whole dreams conversation came out of nowhere for her.
Being forced to debut a year early isnât that bad. She was going to have to do it eventually what's one year sooner? Penelope claims to feel powerless in her own home, but sheâs hardly ever there. Instead sheâd rather kick it with the Bridgertons. But letâs symathize. Even if this were true, how does that have anything to do with what damage sheâs done to other people? Lady Whistledown has never been about solely expressing herself as a means to escape. She blatantly trash talked practically everyone even people she claims to love. So either sheâs a fake and doesnât like the bridgertons as much as she claims or sheâs a fake because sheâs so easily sueded by what she thinks people want to hear.
Of course Penelope couldnât be held accountable for her actions, instead sheâs caught by Colin.Â
He claims that he feels he needs to marry Penelope because they were intimate but what about the countless other women? Huh... once again Penelope's privilege in society does her a favor. Because let's be real, if she was just some lady in the slums Colin wouldn't bat an eye.
Colin falls for anything. I honestly donât think he has any feelings of his own besides his dislike of LW. First Marina now Penelope, Colin swoons for any woman that bats their eyes at him. Heâs so easy to manipulate that itâs aggravating to watch.
They are both liars and they donât trust each other. Pen catches Colin while he catches her. The night before their wedding mind you.
On another note, I know that this might be very⌠âcontroversialâ but must every dress Penelope wears look as though her breast are going to topple out of them. Donât get me wrong, itâs a look. But for every single dress? Even when sheâs on her nightly escapade to deliver LW.
Colin finally starts speaking with some sense! Penelope drug him and his family through the mud and now all she has to say is sheâs sorry and she understands she was misguided. To top it off she claims she did it to get the âoldâ Colin back. How interesting. Dear gentle readers, can you tell me how Colin has changed from point A to point B. What does the audience know about Colin? Heâs some random forgettable guy and truthfully I think even Gregory has more personality than him. What is there for Penelope to miss?Â
Why are we pretending that that was a good apology? She basically put the blame on him. âWell, if Colin would be himself I wouldnât have to write about him.â Ok⌠she also claims that he helped her build confidence in this past year. Am I the only one confused about the time line. I didnât realize this much time has passed. Barely anything has happened.
Penelope needs to move on. She has her man and her money and her new life. Lady Whistledown shouldnât even be crossing her mind. The night before her wedding, sheâs out and about creating drama.
Now, when has Penelope ever complimented Colinâs writing enough for him to comment on it. If weâre talking about the whole French ladies situation, that was hardly anything of note. Iâm also thrown for a loop because I didnât realize he was supposably a writer.Â
The love confession only further solidified my belief that Colin is easy to manipulate. Yes, completely forget about the massive argument you were having and instead focus on the fact that Lady Whistledown loves you. What an excellent idea Colin, totally natural.
Despite, their rocky relationship they get married anyway. Which I will say, if you canât handle âcourtingâ, marriage wonât make things better.
If I were to know nothing about Bridgerton, and I watched the last ball scene, I would have never guessed it was a period drama. I donât want to be too much of a heckler but, the outfits donât look historical at all. Their makeup looks too dewy with heavy eye makeup and striking lip colors. Not to say that theyâre bad, itâs just not the right look for this kind of show.
Even while confessing to everyone that she was the one writing such vile things, Penelope still manages to make it about how people should feel sorry for her. Itâs tiring. She was so captivated that she decided she was going to ruin them. I donât know why Charlotte acts like this is all in good fun. Girl, she trashed talked your family too. Wrote ill of your family while you were grieving a loss. Pressured you, THE QUEEN, to choose a diamond of the season. Charlotte, this is more than just âa little gossipâ she was ruining lives.
Colin admits that he's been trying to separate the idea of Penelope from Whistledown. Exactly what you want in a marriage Iâm sure. Your partner despises a part of you so much he canât bare the thought of it being you⌠bound to ensure longevity.
What about Penelopeâs character is brave? She hides behind her persona and doesnât even gain the nerve to tell the truth to Colin herself. If she was so brave she would have said what she felt to the masses without LW. She wasnât brave or selfless enough to let Colin marry Marina. Because what no one wants to bring up is that he was ok with the idea of raising another man's child. She wasnât brave enough to stand up to Credissa or confront Eloise since she acts as though she was awful to her.
Now to recap something Iâve already saidâŚ
Now that Penelope has the featherington heir she becomes what polin stans hate about Eloise, in the fact that she has âeverythingâ. Sure, Eloise is privileged but no one acknowledges that Penelope is too. Holding the power to utterly ruin someone's reputation and making a profit off of it isnât something that your average lady can say theyâve done. Not to say that she shouldnât have good things but thereâs a point where it gets to feeling like âMary Sueâ. What bad things truly happen to her? She was âpoorâ but that didnât last, she didnât think she was pretty but she got a makeover, she lost her friendship but sheâs trying to paint Eloise as the bad guy so clearly she doesnât care.Â
Nothing bad that happens to her ever holds any significance because it's either cleared away too soon or doesnât matter in the long run. It's not like Prudence or Philippa are unsuitable. What wouldnât she have at this point? She marries into the Bridgerton family, has her Lady Whistledown persona, no one blames her for her actions AND has a son who's lord featherington?
With how much the interviews talked up the "spice" of this season, I have to say I found it lack luster. Nothing about it was particularly jaw dropping. Yes, there is the carriage scene but, when you have a man who a mouth breather and a woman who is actively lying to him, it's hard to find the appeal. Also, unlike the other seasons, I have yet to see a line go viral. AKA- Simon talking about Daphne to the queen, and Anthony's object of my desires speech.
The only note worthy moment's I've seen circulating is people cringing at the balloon scene and not so steamy carriage ride.
Last but not least, furthering my timeline confusion, how long has passed since the wedding? Not to say that itâs impossible, but all three sisters have babies at the same time⌠and they look and act no different than before.Â
EP. 8 SPOILER!
I on the brink of insanity... I'm sure you can guess, the wonderful does no wrong Penelope has the featherington heir.
I have just sped through part two, skipping all the irrelevant bits. All that to say, the pacing of this season felt way off. There's no point in breaking down by episodes, so I'll make an overarching post of my part two thoughts later. However, I will say this, season three felt like a whole lot of nothing.
Thoughts on S3 E5
(SPOILERS ahead)
There might be positives, there will be negatives, so please be forewarned that I am not going to solely praise the show. Also, it needs not be mentioned, I am but a single negative person on the internet talking about a fictional story. We are all not going to agree. Anyway⌠With that said, letâs move on.
What sort of tubi production is this? We donât need a heartbeat sound to emphasize the dramatics.
Why is violet so happy? She had no idea that they were âcourtingâ and now Colin pulls up with a proposal.Â
Another thing, the whole âyou donât understand, Colin is supposed to disgust you at first. Itâs his facade.â isnât going to work on me. He still acts just as cringe as ep. 1.
Penelope needs a little time to tell Colin⌠How interesting. Almost like Marina, but of course Penelope is given graces that others arenât.
The fact that Penelope didnât bother to tell her family first. They had to find out from LW. Also, she isnât being very careful to make sure no one finds out. There are only a select few people that knew about the engagement so by process of elimination someone is bound to figure out itâs her.
Love the fact it was supposed to be so obvious that Colin had secret feelings for her but his brothers are in complete shock.
Wow, sheâs getting a backbone. âColin cares for me.â girl, wasnât she just begging him to kiss her in fear of rejection?
Although I can somewhat understand the hate, Portia is right. Penelope needs to hear that her plans arenât as amazing as she thinks they are especially from an outsider point of view. Portia has already gone through the mess with Marina, of course sheâs going to think something is up with Penelope and Colin.
Colin seems very easy to manipulate. Like he feeds off of the opinions of others rather than making any of his own.Â
Why was Colin at the Featherington house anyway? Itâs always been Penelope going over to the Bridgertons. Nothing Portia said was out of line. He comes waltzing up âdefendingâ Penelopeâs honor for the first time in forever. Where was he all the other times she was victimizing herself? Now he tries to be there.
Colin doesnât even have a suitable house for them! This was so rushedâŚ
I wish they would have given him facial hair.
âŚThat sex scene felt abnormally long.
Imagine hearing your man inadvertently bad mouthing you and pretending that nothing happened. Penelope! I also didnât realize they were going to have ârelationsâ before she told him the truth. Itâs kind of giving me bad vibes. Like, even if he did convey that he loves her, itâs under false pretenses.Â
Colin needs to stop instigating. This is an issue that spans beyond the time since his return. This feud is between Penelope and Eloise. It has nothing to do with him.
No surprise, Penelope runs off, scared from problems of her own doing. They she faint⌠right on time. Get a life.
